Job Description :
Package Project Management:
Responsible for monitoring album and singles schedules to keep track of deadlines and projects.
Compile, clear, research and assure accuracy of credits for inclusion on all physical and digital promotional/commercial product.
Route copy to and obtain approval as necessary from Management, Marketing, Legal, A&R, A&R Administration, DVD key personnel, Royalties and Publishing Royalties.
Route packaging layout to Business Affairs, Marketing Directors/Product Managers, A&R Administration, management/artist for approval.
Keep A&R Administration, Marketing Department, Release Operations Department, Art Director, and artist/artist management continually abreast of approaching and missed copy, art, and audio/video deadlines.
Review and provide feedback to Scheduling and Special Packaging team.
Communicate proper packaging choices to Art Director/Art Department well in advance of deadlines.
Supply appropriate templates/logos to Art Director/Art Department well in advance of deadlines.
Work with label vinyl contact, to ascertain final approved vinyl spec, and communicate to appropriate parties.
Proofread all packaging copy and Proofread all menu screens for DVD product.
Work directly with Art Directors as needed to coordinate scans of archival artwork for current projects. Liaise between designer and color separator when loose proofs are required and route for approval.
Monitor all artwork through color separations process (from digital scans to final files/proofs for printing) working with an assortment of art directors (both in house and out of house) and print vendor pre-press operators to ensure that correct templates and fonts are used and that packages are designed to company specifications.
Review soft proofs on print vendor soft proofing system before and after routing to all approving parties; write up instructions in ES and approve/reject as necessary on behalf of all parties.
Inspect samples of printed materials and labels for adherence to expected quality levels.
Archive final package copy for company wide distribution and input into GCDM.
Request and compile final print files and miscellaneous art files and upload to CAR.
Track all audio and video source deliverables.
Maintain packaging copy templates, updating as necessary and distributing at least once annually to Packaging Team.
Maintain packaging distribution lists and distribute with any revisions as necessary to Packaging Team.
Supply vinyl UPC to vendor.
Ensure that AS/400 entry is complete and accurate for assigned projects.
Communicate details of all art file transmissions to printer/manufacturing plant to Special Packaging Director for daily Traffic Report.
Prepare label Packaging Memos and distribute to appropriate label personnel, print vendors and manufacturers.
Attend weekly Production Meeting and give project updates as necessary; attend Staff Meetings.
Attend project related planning meetings.
Supervisory Role:
Supervise packaging management and/or scheduling staff and administer Mid-Year & Year-End reviews.
Provide oversight and support on more complicated projects for staff as needed.
Attend weekly direct reports meeting with department head, communicating issues, updates, needs, and requests from department staff.
Assist department head in the continual analysis of department operations, changes needed and updates to current job descriptions.
Communicate policy and procedural changes to packaging staff and implement as necessary.
Train any new packaging personnel.
Host weekly direct reports meeting.
Contribute to special projects assigned by department head.
Contribute to special projects assigned by supervisor.
Cover for absent co-workers.

Requirements
Special Requirements/Preferences :
Graphic Arts and/or Publishing/Printing/Manufacturing background
Education Required
Minimum 3 years Project Management experience, with Editorial/Packaging focus, preferably in the
Entertainment Industry
College degree preferred
