Director - Medical Affairs - Nestlé Nutrition North America - Gerber - Florham Park


Job description
Nestlé Infant Nutrition is seeking a highly motivated Director of Medical Affairs to join the Medical, Scientific and Regulatory Unit (MSRU) in Florham Park, NJ.
This individual will play an important role in providing strategic and operational input into core medical affairs activities including healthcare provider interactions, generation of clinical and scientific indications for product usage, educational initiatives with high quality scientific content.



Responsibilities Include:

Become intimately knowledgeable with relevant clinical nutrition areas, the scientific data, clinical evidence and be relatively knowledgeable about the competitive environment
Build and cultivate strong relationships with KOL’s and HCP’s that contribute to shaping the clinical landscape, through scientific advisory boards, general consulting etc.
Develop and ensure quality of content for CME programs, online education and communication with HCPs and all other medical communication vehicles, understand and leverage for business advantage the ACGME guidelines, CEU and CME requirements
Efficient and timely delivery of materials and programs to meet internal, cross-functional team requests and expectations plus manage expectations and align on needs and deliverables with all internal and external stakeholders
Lead the US medical affairs input to global medical affairs on our key initiatives, business priorities, KOL engagement, professional society or academic congress participation and mange US Medical affairs support for grant committees; 6) provide, healthcare providers, payers and healthcare systems with practical and clinically relevant information and solutions to use our products safely and effectively through the product lifecycle and consumers journey;
Manage the medical affairs team, including recruiting, training, succession planning, talent calibration and supervision
Responsible for the overall management of the Medical Affairs MOGE and PFME budget
Create a positive environment for cross functional interactions for the high performing continuous improving team
Administrative responsibilities include managing and overseeing the medical affairs team, maintaining staffing requirements, asking for necessary resources and maintaining efficiencies across the medical affairs team
Provide scientific/medical education to all stakeholders and ensures budgets, timeliness, compliance requirements are factored into all scientific programs and activities
Become familiar with processes and procedures of Nestle and capable of successfully managing the functional audit requirements.

Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL

Advanced Clinical Science Degree of professional credentials required (MD or RD, PhD). Clinical practice and fellowship experience highly sought after, particularly in pediatrics. Ongoing patient care responsibilities will be accommodated.
Degrees in Business (MBA/ BBA), Operational Excellence, Healthcare Administration are a plus.


EXPERIENCE

10+ years of Clinical Nutrition experience is required preferably in a CPG organization.

A minimum of 5 years of scientific, nutritional and/or clinical management experience is required
A minimum of 5 years of staff management experience with positive experience in leadership, team building and staff development
Publication in the scientific/medical peer viewed literature is desirable.
Proven background in science and medical nutrition is required
First hand research and clinical practice experience is required.
Willingness to work or attend off-hours/weekend events
Excellent written and oral presentation skills
Strong analytical skills and presentation skills to scientific and non-scientific audiences required.
Proven ability to develop relationships with physicians and other Healthcare Professionals is required as is proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and matrix environment.
The position is located in Florham Park, NJ and may require up to 50% travel domestic and international.
