Job Description
Daiichi Sankyo is seeking a Director, HEOR to join our team in our Parsippany, NJ location. The Director, HEOR is responsible for the development and implementation of health economics and outcomes plans for the Company’s pre-approval and marketed products, ensure that these plans are aligned to the Global R&D and Commercial strategy in order to help secure access & reimbursement; formulary listings; optimal pricing; and optimal utilization.
This person ensures scientific rigor in the design, implementation and delivery of health economics and outcomes studies (both clinical and observational studies) that evaluate the value of DSI compounds and position them for success vis-à-vis current and future competitors. The individual has a sound understanding of clinical development, regulatory and commercialization process. The scope of responsibility includes all aspects of health economics and outcomes research strategy, tactics and communication utilizing data from retrospective database analyses, design and assessment of patient-reported outcomes and economic endpoints in clinical trials, epidemiological studies and health economic modeling. Leading an effective communication strategy of data generated from these studies to the internal and external stakeholders is a key responsibility for this position. Knowledge and experience in clinical trials and cardiovascular therapeutic areas is preferred.

Responsibilities

Guide, develop, implement, and monitor HEOR research plans. This could include project management of multiple KOLs, CROs, coordination with CRAs, negotiating budgets & securing contracts with outside vendors, taking receipt of data, analysis of data, development of publication strategy and other duties as necessary to conduct and communicate health economics & outcomes research.
Participate and proactively contribute to internal multi-disciplinary project teams related to Global R&D and Commercial strategy development.
Lead the development of health economics & outcomes data communication materials (e.g., publications, slide kits, symposia), collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams involving Clinical Development, Global Project Management, Brand team, New Product Planning, Managed Markets; Health Policy; Medical Research; Field Medical, Market Research; Biostatistics; Legal Affairs; and Regulatory Affairs, and managing all budget-related activities.
Train Health Outcomes Liaisons and Value Selling Account Managers on published as well as ARC approved HEOR data to ensure effective communication of data and value messages to DSI key customers to support success in formulary and reimbursement decisions.

Maintain and continue to enhance knowledge of all competitive products and development compounds, disease states and the market place.

Provide support to business development activities as necessary to evaluate the commercial potential of in-license candidates.
Work with clinical, regulatory and pharmacovigilance teams as necessary to address regulatory requirements via epidemiological studies.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience
A doctorate in a relevant discipline (e.g., health services research, economics, medicine, pharmacy, public health, psychometrics, epidemiology) is preferred; Minimum of 10+ years experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, 8 of which must be working in the health economics and outcomes research field; track record of peer-reviewed publications is required; Strong oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, time management, ability to work within a cross-functional team; ability to multi-task; demonstrated ability to influence without authority; demonstrated ability to prioritize and deliver projects in a timely manner; strong negotiation skills; firm grasp of the pharmaceutical industry and developments in health care industry; strong leadership skills.
