Director - Design & Engineering - Flextronics - Milpitas

Job description
Responsible for working with Networks, Servers, and Storage Customers, Manufacturing Operations Management, Product Managers and other functional leaders, to lead three Design & Engineering teams involved in the design, validation and implementation of innovative and cost effective product solutions for networks, server and storage in order to meet customer requirements from development of conceptual prototypes and architecture through development into full-scale production.

• Direct and control the activities of three global engineering teams through several senior Design & Engineering managers involved in activities such as designing, developing, modifying and evaluating integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and systems

• Partner with other leaders to establish objectives and action plans

• Ensure the development of Design & Engineering solutions for diversified industry segment covering a wide range of products and volume mixes for networks, server, and storage

• Ensure budget, schedules and performance indicators meet corporate guidelines

• Provide technical and strategic guidance to subordinate directors to ensure achievement of goals and objectives

• Develop and continuously improve methods, systems and processes in a complex and rapidly changing environment to improve customer satisfaction

• Organize and lead reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, as per cost targets and within quality specifications

• Partner with Operations leaders to ensure Engineering & Design activities are well integrated with manufacturing operations including the use of Design for Manufacturability principles.

• Implement appropriate HR Strategies and actions to recruit and retain a qualified and motivated workforce
