Director - Business Analytics - Sandoz - Princeton


Job description
The Director, Business Analytics will lead a best-in-class business intelligence and market analytics function for Sandoz US to support all commercial line functions (e.g., Sales & Marketing – Retail Generics and Biosimilars, Business Development & Licensing, Portfolio Selection / R&D). The incumbent will lead a team responsible for providing detailed analytics, as well as actionable insights to the business in order to build market models to track, analyze, assess and report trends for relevant generics competitors in-line and pipeline products on a weekly, monthly or quarterly basis as appropriate.



Major Accountabilities

Identifies systems, processes, and organizational changes to create a best-in-class function responsible for driving business analytics and competitive intelligence capabilities.
Identifies timely and relevant market and competitive insights, assesses market trends and develops deep insights into opportunities and threats.
Manages analysts that gather information from primary and secondary sources and assess its accuracy, validity and materiality. Scope of data will span across target customers, competitive landscape and adjacent markets.
Synthesizes and assesses trends at a macro level for competitors, customers, suppliers and FDA
Tracks and forecasts the US generic market. Identifies key market environment developments (focus on value / volume growth and market share).
Disseminates performance summaries for key customers and competitors. Summarizes competitor & customer activities and implications (e.g. financial performance, key in-line & pipeline products, M&A / BD&L, country performance, market segment, and product performance).
Provide portfolio analytics support and summaries on macro trends.


Key Performance Indicators

Demonstrated success in analytics and Pharma databases (IMS, APLD, Symphony)
Handles large volume of internal and external data and provides financial analysis
Evaluates business trends and assesses market conditions
Ability to gather data from multiple sources and synthesize into key points
Ability to influence through sound interpretation of analyses
Ability to translate the complex into reports with clear business language
Ability to navigate software and data extraction tools such as Marketview, Excel and other relevant such tools

Desired Skills and Experience
Education :

BS with extensive job experience in generic field and/or business intelligence. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience:

Minimum 10 years’ experience in managing data and conducting market analysis,
Pharma/Healthcare and Generics experience preferred
Solid knowledge of industry databases such as IMS and Symphony
Solid understanding of analytics, strong project management and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated success leading a team
