Job Description
Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide leadership to drive and deliver results for the Regional Wholesale Merchandise Planning organization. This role will be a strategic leader who will act as a trusted advisor to the Regional Wholesale Merchandise and Sales Leads to support brand strategy and vision. This position sits on the regional planning leadership team and is responsible for facilitating collaboration with Wholesale Merchandise Planning in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the regional wholesale planning function to ensure effective partnership and delivery of regional wholesale assortment planning objectives.

• Lead the wholesale account/segment sales and support the inventory planning activities, ensuring delivery to line productivity.

• Lead the key account role(s) focusing on our top retailers, building planning relationships, the way we sell-in and sell-out, adding value to the rhythm of the business cycle with our key accounts. Understand the key seasonal themes and concepts and field accounts and provide directional guidance in how to plan for those, supporting the brand vision

• Lead the development of an aggregate monthly demand forecast and reconcile against plans. Establish forecast accuracy measurement and cadence of continuous cross-functional improvement activities that improve the accuracy of the forecast over time.

• Collaborate and serve as a liaison between wholesale planning and Omni-Channel Inventory Management to ensure accurate and timely demand estimates are established.

• Execute the preparation of and participate in regional S&OP to recommend profitable inventory decisions.

• Collaborate with cross functional partners to ensure regional market intelligence is made available to the Merchandising team and provide directional guidance that will ensure financial goals are achieved including a strong category point to merchandising for developing assortment plans

• Accountable for partnering and aligning with inventory management to determine how to most effectively allocate product.

• Providing input to the development of wholesale planning reporting and analytics activities to ensure account productivity and inventory investment.

• Build consensus with cross-functional partners with focus on building omni-channel capabilities

• Directly manage, develop and recruit talent for key wholesale planning positions in the region. Build, motivate and inspire to create a highly talented, energized & engaged team.

• Implement the Global Planning Platform and Framework with standardized processes, practices, integrated business reviews and metrics to drive transparency, integration and informed, systemic decision-making.

• Input into the development of the next generation of forecasting/planning tools and lead the regional adoption and deployment of these tools and continuous improvement of such

Education

• Bachelor's degree (13+ years of combined college education and work experience may be substituted for a degree). MBA preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in a planning function, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a strategic leadership role.

Specialized Knowledge/Technical Skills

• Significant experience in demand planning within the apparel industry

• Demonstrated forecasting/planning expertise and experience in the wholesale apparel industry preferred

• Proven experience building new processes and streamlining/optimizing existing processes

• Demonstrated ability in building constructive and effective relationships with a broad, diverse group of cross functional business partners

• Effective leader, with strong management skills and the ability to set clear objectives
