Director - Services Project - US DoD - Motorola Solutions - Columbia
Job description
The DoD Director is a leadership role within the US Federal Solutions & Services team and will be charged with leading the team that delivers sold services to our government customers
Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
Lead the DoD Services Team in providing the delivery planning, integration, support, and management of Motorola Systems to DoD customers.
Pursue and cultivate trusted advisor relationships with senior leadership in the DoD
Find and create business opportunities in the US Federal DoD IT services market
Foster a culture of entrepreneurship within Motorola Solutions
Create and implement innovative solutions in the DoD Services Team
Understand current and anticipate future customer needs in the context of market dynamics to create compelling service offerings
Understand and educate our team and customers on the breadth of Motorola’s portfolio and develop the service portfolio in anticipation of market needs
Manage service delivery, ensuring project success and customer satisfaction
Act as a coach in developing leaders on the team and peers and increasing Motorola’s acumen in the DoD IT services business
Act as a Value Creator - deliver the revenue, margin and targeted growth initiatives.
Meet or exceed customer expectations through schedule and budget management and measure those deliverables through quality metrics.
Manage and measure the success of contractual deliverables through a set of concrete metrics
Drive the team to improve the profitability of projects and service contracts by exceeding customer expectations
Motivate project teams to ensure optimal performance and results.
Help Recruit and retain top talent in the organization
Qualifications:
The ability to manage revenue and margin planning, forecasting, and execution for a ~$100M business.
The ability to manage a global team of ~100 customer-facing service delivery and project managers.
The ability to lead in a matrixed organization to leverage resources within one’s own teams and key work partners across the corporation.
The ability to collaborate extensively across the organization in pursuit of corporate objectives.
The ability to think strategically and build teams to grow the business in targeted expansion areas
The ability to lead change by driving the behaviors in their organization to align with our strategic goals.
The ability to synthesize and effectively communicate a vision of the future to all layers of management.
The ability to develop a winning team, set of capabilities, and strategy to earn DoD IT service contracts.
Desired Skills and Experience
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree
- 10+ years of Government technology integration leadership experience
- Business development experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract
Specific Knowledge/Skills
- Bachelors degree
- US citizenship
- Ability to attain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Experience in the US Federal Government contracting business
- Military service is an asset
- The position will require 50% travel.
