Director - Product - Payments and Fraud - Amazon - Seattle
Job Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a dynamic and innovative technical leader to lead development and operations for the AWS Payments and AWS Fraud Teams. You will have end-to-end responsibility over the AWS Payments experience, managing not only the technical and operations team, but a team of product managers to define new user experiences and drive new payment methods and local currencies for our customers. Similarly on the AWS Fraud team, you will be managing the technical platform as well as a team of research scientists using sophisticated modeling techniques to prevent and detect fraudulent activity.

You will also be responsible for setting the vision for new payments, currency and fraud services as we expand globally.

Key Responsibilities
· Adopt existing plans for your space and be responsible for defining the future direction.
· Manage projects that deliver on commitments in your space.
· Manage day-to-day activities of engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.
· Manage departmental resources, staff, mentor, maintain and grow a best-of-class engineering team.
· Work closely the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach. Be a hands-on technical leader.
· Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.
Basic Qualifications
· Proven track record of hiring and managing high performing engineering teams and managers.
· Strong technical credentials, with expertise in OOP, Java or C++
· 10 plus years of experience in Software development and 7+ years’ experience working as a leader of leaders.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders.
· Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what's necessary to drive your projects to completion.
· Experience with Linux/Unix systems
· Experience with SQL and No SQL data stores
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience building scalable infrastructure software or distributed systems
· Experience defining and building customer facing products
· Experience working hands on with statisticians
