Director - Procurement - Metal and Glass Packaging - The Coca-Cola Company - Atlanta


Job description
POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for the strategic sourcing, negotiation, supplier relationship management and contract management of Metal and Glass packaging for the Coca-Cola Bottling network in the US, Canada, Bermuda, Bahamas and Puerto Rico. The primary focus of this position will be to conduct negotiations with suppliers to ensure the lowest total cost of ownership while delivering continuity of quality supply, exceptional service, lean initiatives, innovation and sustainability.
The individual will be responsible for maintaining and growing relationships with Bottler members and customers, global procurement and suppliers. This position has five direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities
Be a subject matter expert for metal and glass packaging including an in-depth knowledge of industry structure, economic drivers, supplier financials and competitive situation.
Attract, develop and Inspire a high performing team through coaching and feedback
Lead the development of category management strategies and execution of the 7-Step Strategic Sourcing Process.
Drive senior level alignment and engagement with key Business partners for Procurement initiatives and programs (sourcing, implementation, compliance)
Develop strategies for maximizing value across the end to end supply chain.
Prioritize (including stop work) and enable continuous improvement in his/her area of responsibility leveraging lean/six-sigma methods.
Develop segmentation and resource allocation to deliver robust supplier relationship and performance management programs to deliver against SLAs and innovation objectives.
Negotiate, implement and manage long-term strategic contracts to ensure optimum costs and reliable supply.
Ability to maintain effective working relations with user groups and suppliers.
Ability to collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing to drive quantified continuous improvement.
Analyze market forecasts and projections to develop and update packaging budgets on a monthly basis.
Manage and continuously improve financial tools to forecast spend, highlight risk/opportunity and quantify productivity initiatives
Manage and continuously improve the financial process with the supply base to include working capital optimization and financial reconciliations
Benchmark supply alternatives to competitively position least cost solutions for Bottler members.
Use OE and lean tools with members and suppliers to improve supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with Procurement Policies and SOX rules.
Initiate, analyze and implement new technologies, programs, processes and improvement of procurement methods.
Expand opportunities for MWBE suppliers.
Lead cost-savings projects.
Other assignments as directed.

Education Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain or other related field

Preferred

Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management

Experience Required

-10 years of procurement, supply chain or packaging experience
+ years managing in a professional corporate environment

Experience and knowledge of strategic sourcing, negotiation, supplier relationship management and contract management
