Bigcommerce, named "Best Place to Work" in Austin, TX in 2014 is looking for a Marketing Director, Client Acquisition who has deep SMB and Mid-Market acquisition expertise to help us increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our new merchant acquisition efforts.

Our ideal Marketing Director, Client Acquisition has experience defining marketing strategies, developing and executing B2B marketing and sales campaigns, and leading large cross-functional groups to deliver results. You have experience across a variety acquisition and sales channels including digital, email, partner, inside sales, and online.

As our Marketing Director, Client Acquisition you will have direct responsibility for developing and managing our acquisition marketing strategy, including accountability for lead generation and nurture. Using your strong analytical aptitude, you’ll roll up your sleeves review campaign results to drive improvements. You’ll work closely with our business partners in Sales, Finance, Product, and other members of the Marketing team to influence our marketing strategy and execution.



What You Will Do



Develop integrated sales and marketing acquisition strategies to increase new client acquisition rates.
Develop and execute multi-channel acquisition strategies that leverage digital, online, e-mail, phone, partner marketing, and product marketing opportunities
Partner with the sales channel to increase sales efficiency and expand sales. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end lead process: list acquisition, scoring, campaign management, prioritization, and nurture. You’ll manage the vendors that support the lead generation and nurture process.
Manage online acquisition testing to improve visit to trial and trial to paid conversion.
Identify, quantify, and prioritize opportunities to test in market and/or research/analyze further. Develop a test and learn strategy which includes developing a plan to test key ideas which should inform the rollout of your strategy
Analyze campaign and channel performance to drive continued process improvements
Leverage extensive direct response and database analytics experience, as well as deep understanding of the ecommerce space and prior SMB and Mid-Market marketing experience, to increase client acquisition
Manage the integrated acquisition plan and forecast across all channels. Develop budgets and forecasts and manage to them.
Lead internally and externally:
Collaborate cross-functionally with key internal partners, including Sales, Finance, Product, Partner Development, as well as other members of the Marketing team.
Work effectively with external business partners to identify potential joint marketing opportunities.
Manage agency and other outside consultants and vendors.

Desired Skills and Experience
What You’ve Done



7-10 years of experience developing and executing marketing strategy across channels.
3-5 years experience working with inside sales organizations, including experience with Salesforce.com, marketing automation platforms, and marketing databases.
3-5 years of business-to-business marketing experience, ideally in eCommerce, SaaS or Merchant focused organizations.
3-5 years of experience in managing integrated marketing campaign.
3-5 years of experience managing cross-functional teams.
Experience managing at least one additional channel such as digital, online, or partner.
Developed superior relationship-building and influence management skills in interactions with senior leaders, peers, internal and external partners.
Established understanding of the eCommerce space and SMB/Mid-Market businesses.
