Director - Treasury Accounting Global Center of Excellence - Nike - Portland

As the Director of NIKE’s Treasury Accounting Global Center of Excellence (CoE), you will lead a team dedicated to ensuring the complete and accurate accounting of NIKE’s Global Treasury activities. Key accountabilities include:
• Developing and enforcing our Treasury Accounting Global CoE operating model and related policies, procedures, and internal controls;
• Closely partnering with the Global Treasury teams to ensure Controlling’s understanding of and engagement in Global Treasury’s practices, transactions and initiatives;
• Leading our Treasury Accounting Global CoE accounting team at NIKE World Headquarters;
• Developing and ensuring the consistent application of Treasury-related accounting policies across NIKE’s operating entities;
• Serving as the lead subject matter expert in the technical accounting areas of financial instruments (including derivatives), fair value, debt and cash and investments;
• Continuously driving improvements to support an effective and efficient close and financial reporting process for Treasury-related activities; and
• Leading design, testing, and implementation/upgrade efforts associated with treasury accounting systems of record.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance;
• CPA required;
• 10+ years' extensive experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting; experience within a large multinational, publicly-held company is highly preferred;
• 5+ years' proven people management experience;
• Strong knowledge of accounting for derivatives and investments is highly preferred;
• Exposure to ERP accounting and finance systems such as SAP or Oracle preferred;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate status, issues, risks and opportunities with senior leadership team;
• Proven ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations;
• Proven ability to develop high profile, influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions and layers, preferably inclusive of navigating a large corporation;
• Proven experience with continuous improvement and/or LEAN-related concepts and change management;
• Excellent understanding and application of managerial concepts and techniques in areas such as innovation, inspiration, employee development, coaching and engagement; and
• Ability to pass a 7 year background check.
