Director - Social Media Strategy and Innovation - CNBC - NBCUniversal - Englewood Cliffs
CNBC seeks a social media director who will lead our team of editors and help drive growth and innovation across social media platforms. CNBC creates more digital content than ever before. Our social media director will be charged finding new ways to ensure our audience can easily discover and share that content every day. This position combines both social media expertise and editorial strategy, but most of all, a passion for digital storytelling.
Specific Duties: *Lead a growing team of social media editors and producers, responsible for managing and programming CNBC's social channels *Own CNBC's social media strategy, and communicate core principles across the newsroom *Develop tactics to grow CNBC's social audience both on platform and across CNBC.com *Drive editorial planning and prioritize social media opportunities for broadcast and digital
*Build on existing social media partnerships and vendor relationships to bring new opportunities to the organization *Create social media campaigns for editorial initiatives, tent pole events, and sponsorships, often liaising with ad/sales *Provide regular analytics updates and feedback on social performance, including performing regular data-driven experiments to determine optimal strategies and tactics
Requirements: *At least 5 years' experience in digital media *Prior experience covering business news preferred *Proven success creating and executing social media campaigns *Willingness to take risks and experiment with new technology *Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, Javascript *Experience using tools such as Hootsuite, Dataminr, ScribbleLive, Spredfast *Familiarity with Omniture, Chartbeat, and other analytics tools
