Director - Ad Sales Marketing - Opera Mediaworks - New York
Job description
The successful candidate will be a strong leader who can multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial atmosphere, while also being effective within the matrix structure of a Global environment. This individual will have a history of being an impact player, is a motivated self-starter and comfortable taking personal ownership in the performance of his/her projects.
The Director of Ad Sales Marketing will report into the VP of Ad Sales Marketing, working with the brand pre and post-sale teams to create new advertising packages and features, educate the marketplace on the offerings, partner with multi-disciplinary groups within the Opera Mediaworks organization to identify new advertising opportunities and develop ideas/products for specific client/brand partnerships.
Work closely with the VP, sales leadership team, and other key stakeholders to develop a calendar of opportunities that align with seasonal advertising opportunities
Create packages and build solution-oriented materials for inclusion in sales presentations and proposal submissions
Work closely with team members of the Brand Account Services team in pre and post campaign aspects to determine the needs of additional sales collateral, such as case studies, mobile / digital advertising news and trends, other support materials including promotional presentations, conference materials, sizzle reels and campaign recaps, etc.
Manage several internal communication channels (inter - department newsletters, etc.)
Pre Sale functions:
Collect and manage industry-based research for use in proposals and proactive client communication
Strategize with sales and ad sales marketing to develop and manage seasonal ‘packages,’ category-specific opportunities and unique advertiser/client opportunities
Assist with key client presentations, such as quarterly business reviews
Acute focus on developing new revenue opportunities by way of compelling materials that communicate a very clear message, specific to the mobile marketplace
Work closely with team members of the Brand Account Services team in pre and post campaign aspects to determine the needs of additional sales collateral
Post Sale functions:
Assist with key client presentations, Quarterly Business Reviews, etc.
Liaise with the Product team to understand the marketing aspect of new campaign features, ad units and advertising opportunities
Liaise with the Performance Sales and Account Management teams on an as-needed basis
Play a role in post-campaign analysis to tie insights back to new ideas and strategies or case studies
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree, MBA a plus
A passion for mobile and mobile advertising
Capacity to work well among a highly integrated team, in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail, ability to multitask, and strong organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of the digital and mobile advertising landscape.
Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
Knowledge of Keynote, Microsoft Office (specifically Powerpoint, Excel, Word)
Photoshop and other creative application skills a plus
The ideal candidate will be a creative, proactive, highly motivated, strategic and analytical, results-oriented professional requiring minimal supervision
A track record of success in a previous marketing capacity, 5+ years in a sales marketing role for media/publishing company or marketing strategy role at an agency
A strong level of comfort with data as there will be a moderate level of data analysis required for this position
