Director - Marketing - Univision Communications - Miami
Job description
Univision Deportes, UCI’s Sports Division, is currently seeking a highly motivated and creative individual for the position of Director, Marketing. In this position, the candidate will have ownership and responsibility for the Univision Deportes (UD) brand and its day-to-day management. This position will require permanent interaction with the UD Promotion and Art department as well as with other internal and external stakeholders to ensure full alignment behind the UD brand vision and UCI’s overarching marketing strategy.
The position also entitles managing all off-air promotional efforts and working with external content providers and partners (e.g. leagues, federations and clubs) to leverage UD’s association with such properties
Reports to: VP of Marketing and Promotion, Univision Deportes
Manages: Cross Promotion Coordinator
Interacts with: Director of Promotions and Art, The Univision Agency, Corporate Marketing, Ad Sales, Content Distribution, Corporate Communications, Local Media, Digital and Social Media groups, as well as external partners such as content providers and agencies.
Main Responsibilities include:
In conjunction with the VP of Marketing, establish the marketing strategy for the Univision Deportes brand.
Manage the UD brand and related brand extensions and related brand extensions with a full 360 degree approach (digitial, social, radio, etc.).
Serve as main day-to-day contact for internal stakeholders to ensure total alignment to support both Corporate and UD brands.
Manage Univision Deportes Network off-air promotional plan (e.g. external media buys, strategic associations).
Create strategies for content integrations across all Univision platforms for sports programming.
Develop property-specific marketing plans to support UD programming portfolio assets (e.g. MLS, Gold Cup, Liga MX).
Manage consumer insights strategy, including internal and external assets (e.g. external agencies, acquiring syndicated studies).
Desired Skills and Experience
· 7 years minimum experience in sports marketing field.
· Superior knowledge and familiarity of sports.
· Proficient in soccer landscape, particularly from Mexico and the US.
· Knowledge of the US Hispanic market
· Fully bilingual (English and Spanish).
· Proficient in MAC and PC and basic packages as Microsoft Office.
· Budget and resource management experience.
· Familiarity with standard broadcast/media terms and practices (optional).
· Up to date with current trends and technologies.
· Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to manage and collaborate in teams.
· Ability to work under tight deadlines.
· Creative thinker and problem solver.
· Flexible with schedule and ability to travel.
· 4-year college degree in marketing or communications a plus.
