Job description
Manages design standards and development projects for assigned product lines including associated budgets.

Responsible for all product designs and customer order engineering associated with products manufactured at the Painted Post facility.

Assures overall quality of all products manufactured at plant, and contract and technical service for all products associated with product location.

Position Qualifications (Required and Preferred):

Required:

Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 10 years experience in a managerial role.
Preferred:

Experience in heavy manufacturing facility

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Ensures technical integrity of projects assigned to engineering function.
Meets customers' schedule requirements with drafting/engineering personnel assigned to project and coordinates efforts with appropriate departments.
Coordinates department functions and collaborates with business unit, cost centers, sales locations, manufacturing and other engineering functions.
Institutes and maintains a standardization program for cost reduction and product simplification.
Keeps abreast of technical state-of-art advances for product line, insuring management awareness of and evaluating a professional image of department through presentation of technical papers and forums.
Ensures a continuous effective and adequate quality control program.
