Director - Client Relationship Management - Prudential - Shelton
Job description
The Director, Client Relationship Management, leads a team of client relationship managers, who are part of the Sales & Distribution Strategic Relationship Management department. The team partners with external relationship managers to develop a strategy with broker dealer firms to distribute Prudential’s products and drive sales. The role partners closely with the Relationship Management and Sales Strategy / Business Intelligence management teams to provide strategic insight and best practices around world class account management. Additionally, the role works intricately with key stakeholders across the organization and with other Prudential enterprise business lines to collaborate and leverage opportunities.
Responsibilities
1. Provide strategic direction and oversight to a team of Client Relationship Managers within the Strategic Relationship Management (SRM) department to maintain and enhance relationships with existing or prospective Broker Dealer clients.
2. Develop strategies and objectives for the development and implementation of technology/process solutions that promote the ease of doing business with our Broker Dealer partners.
3. Partner with the head of Strategic Relationship Management and Sales Strategy / Business Intelligence to assist in ensuring an environment that focuses on Talent First, while also providing direction on travel and expenses, fixed firm budgets, and sales forecasting for Strategic Relationship Management/Sales.
4. Represent Strategic Relationship Management on a variety of client-facing and internal initiatives (SRM on the Road) and potential new business development opportunities (Prudential of Taiwan, Itau' Bank).
5. Lead targeted internal strategic initiatives for Strategic Relationship Management to ensure the team is competitive and compliant (i.e., salesforce.com, central storage system for firm documentation, internal audit, standard operating procedures library).
6. Actively participate and collaborate on behalf of Strategic Relationship Management on a variety of Annuities specific steering committees. Provide the voice of the balance of the Broker Dealer and Prudential.
7. Represent Prudential at variable annuity industry conferences (IRI, OMR, BISRA) to promote Prudential Annuities’ value proposition and to identify key industry initiatives for Prudential to lead.
8. Develop strategic partnership with our sales colleagues, including the National Sales Managers, Divisional Sales Managers and wholesalers.
Desired Skills and Experience
• BA/BS degree required; master’s degree preferred
• Series 6 or 7 and Series 63 or 66 required.
• Series 26 required within a specific time frame.
• 7+ years experience in the financial services industry
• Managerial experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of sales and a background in operations
• Strong understanding of the customer and the competition
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
