Account Director - Public Relations - Racepoint Global - San Francisco

Job description
We are looking for a talented, team-oriented Account Director (AD) to support our technology practice group in San Francisco. Ideal candidates will have experience within an agency, working with tech clients and deep knowledge of client-relevant media.

Our ADs collaborate with the senior team to develop innovative multi-faceted integrated public relations programs and new client services, as well as lead efforts for specific tech initiatives. ADs are well-versed in providing counsel to clients as it relates to media and analyst relations initiatives, and they also provide leadership, guidance and mentorship for junior team members.

Responsibilities:
Serves as primary client contact internally and externally

Plays key role in supporting strategic direction and executing multi-faceted programs

Maintains deep knowledge of client relevant media and industry issues that directly and indirectly affect the client’s business goals


Provides counsel on social media strategies and tactics

Plays an integral role in planning and executing traditional and digital media programs

Oversees internal account team; responsible for tactical program execution and measurement reporting

Oversees the team in delivering impactful media measurement by securing coverage with the influential media targets that have the most significant impact on a client’s business

Ensures team develops relationships and engages with influencers to raise awareness of clients
Shares knowledge across the team

Closely manages client account activity, driving organic growth opportunities regularly

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communication, Journalism or related field

Typically has 8-10 years of public relations or communications experience

Proven management skills required; strong team management experience

Strong problem-solving, analytical, budget management and business skills

Experience in a variety of public relations programs and industries

Strong presentation skills
