Job description
Aeris is a pioneer and leader in the M2M market – as an operator delivering end-to-end M2M services and as a technology provider enabling other operators to deliver profitable M2M services. We’re looking for a strategic and visionary leader to join our marketing team. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who is eager to roll up their sleeves, lead a team, and to make measurable contributions in shaping the future of Aeris.
This is a highly visible and strategic role in which you will own and drive our enterprise marketing efforts. Unlike many marketing leadership positions which have unclear objectives and success criteria, the successful candidate for this position will be directly responsible for revenue, especially as it relates to our online platform, Neo. We are looking for an entrepreneur who can shoot for the fences, find paths to success, and deliver breakthrough results.
Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS
Demand Generation
Own all facets of Aeris’ demand generation plan, including SEO/SEM, e-mail, community marketing, customer referral programs, partner marketing, website, and events
Take a rigorous, data-driven approach to program tracking and adjustment
Carefully monitor customer metrics, including retention rates and profitability, to develop and adjust target customer acquisition costs
Drive differentiated plans and metrics depending on market segment – small business, mid-market, enterprise.
Product Marketing
Product management/alliance development
Own and drive dthe marketing message across all customer segments
Understand the needs of key industry verticals through primary and secondary research. Develop a clear understanding of pain points and other industry-specific issues. Be the expert on the market – who they buy, what they buy, what drives them.
Position Aeris as a thought leader in the target markets, managing the message to press, analysts, and key influencers
Product Management / Alliance Development
Provide feedback to engineering on features required to win, create differentiation, or drive additional share of wallet
Drive all aspects of the lifecycle of the product/service (definition, development, market entry, etc.). Function as a “mini-GM” – own the success.
Develop the “whole product” to take to market, including engaging with key ecosystem and strategic partners. Make recommendations around build/buy/partner decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS
12+ years of software and SaaS product marketing/management experience, including in building and managing high-performance teams.
Very strong, cutting-edge expertise in demand generation techniques with a proven track record of successfully driving products/services into the market.
Ability to create clear and compelling plans and to mobilize an organization to execute. Impatient. Strong sales instinct.
Strategic mindset with a keen sense of value drivers. Track record of taking a logical and data-driven approach to tackle complex problems.
Dynamic thinker with a voracious appetite for information, constantly pushing and questioning, connecting the dots on future scenarios, and pivoting in new directions as appropriate.
Familiarity with M2M/IoT market desirable but not required
Small company VP of Marketing experience high desirable
Experience with marketing automation platforms (currently HubSpot) and CRM platforms (currently NetSuite) for tracking and nurturing leads and managing lead generation campaigns
BA/BS; MBA preferred
