Director - Value and Performance Policy - American Society of Clinical Oncology - Virginia


Job description
ASCO is seeking a Director, Value and Performance Policy to advise ASCO leadership, committees, and staff on value and performance priorities, initiatives, and activities, and direct ASCO’s activities on definition, measurement, and policy-related efforts for value and performance in cancer care as envisaged by the Society’s Strategic Plan and goals of the department

Responsibilities & Duties:
Provide staff expertise regarding quality-related policy, including commentary, suggested strategy, and outreach in support of quality advocacy efforts
Monitor and participate in national quality organizations (NQF, NQRN, AMA PCPI, IOM NCPF, etc.) to represent ASCO and oncology, liaise with appropriate committees and staff, coordinate policy initiatives and efforts focused on the integration of quality measurement, quality improvement, and value in practice redesign and payment reform, and serve as quality policy liaison for QCC, CPC, and GRC, and as NCQA OMH ASCO project team lead
Participate in quality measurement strategic planning including identifying emerging areas of measurement need in a timely manner

Attend, monitor, and report on NQF meetings, nominate and serve as representative, coordinate ASCO response to NQF calls for measures, attend, monitor, and report on PCPI, AQA, and ONC quality measures meetings, monitor PQRS and other measure programs that affect oncology, and coordinate ASCO commentary
Monitor, comment, and manage relevant policy and related project and committee work and advise and communicate with ASCO Board of Directors, staff leadership, and volunteers

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications/Requirements
Advanced Degree in related field
Minimum 12+ years industry experience in Health Care, Medicare policy, physician payment, billing, coding, etc.
Experience facilitating change, including collaboration with executive and senior-level stakeholders
Skilled at managing interpersonal relations to build rapport internal and external to ASCO
Proven track record to manage multiple priorities in a challenging and fast-paced work environment
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills; ability and willingness to work collaboratively, set priorities, strategic planning
Sound judgment and strong sense of integrity to support a dynamic and mission-driven organization.
Willingness to travel
