Director - Training and Development - Octapharma Plasma - Charlotte


Job description
We are seeking a Director of Training & Development to join our growing biopharmaceutical company. Reporting into the Sr. Director of Human Resources/Training and Development, you will design, develop, launch and measure an effective competency based training program for all employees and positions. Your reach includes donor centers, corporate functional areas, operations management, and lab and plasma storage operations. You will develop a succession planning process for key personnel and build a strong talent pool to ensure long term company viability and strength.
Additional responsibilities of the Director of Training & Development role include:
Designs and develops a company-wide competency based training and development strategy to ensure a long term talent pool.
Develops, designs and launches effective modes of training and development delivery systems.
Develops and implements leadership and managerial training programs.
Conducts semi-annual talent assessment at all levels of the organization.
Develops, implements and monitors effective recruitment assessment tools for managerial and line staff.
Implements programs to ensure that donor center staff completes required technical training as outlined in the Donor Center Training Manual. Assess all levels of staff to ensure attainment of skills/knowledge through competency based training.

Develops and implements company safety programs and training.
Plans, develops, and initiates various modes of Octapharma Plasma’s Training Site.
Work with Operations to determine donor center training needs. Develop and execute plan to address training needs.
Develops and implements tracking tools to ensure compliance of staff training needs.
Ensure all training manuals are updated and maintained in accordance with cGMP standards.
Recommends and manages assigned departmental budget.

Desired Skills and Experience
Qualified candidates of this role must offer a Bachelor’s degree, however, a Master’s degree is preferred. Previous experience in a regulatory or ISO environment is required. You must offer excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. You must demonstrate the ability to effectively utilize/provide positive and constructive feedback models to influence performance.
Other requirements of the Director of Training & Development role include:
8+ years experience in a training and development leadership role, with experience in remote locations and diverse workforce, including exempt and non-exempt employees
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic training and development plans
Demonstrated ability to conduct needs assessments and develop training plans to address gaps
Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize technology based learning and development applications
Previous experience developing and implementing a variety of training programs, including leadership and management, technical skills, and soft skills based on competency models.
Demonstrated success in a project management role
Previous experience interacting with middle management and senior executive level and across department functional lines.
Previous experience developing and/or managing a budget preferred.
Strong knowledge of SOP’s preferred.
Excellent decision-making, organizational, analytical, prioritization and multi-tasking skills.
Demonstrated proficiency and knowledge of personal computer software and Microsoft Office, experience with MasterControl preferred
30% travel required (including occasional overnight stays for up to 4 nights)
