Position Overview
The Director, Software Quality Engineering oversees the quality assurance efforts within the engineering organization. The role is responsible for ensuring that delivered products meet requirements and expectations from a quality, scalability and maintainability standpoint.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with vice president of engineering to direct the development of the quality assurance processes in alignment with the strategic direction of the company
Drive necessary change within the organization to improve product quality
Implement disciplined practices while ensuring highest level of integrity and quality
Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements
Communicate and collaborate (in a proactive manner) with customers to analyze product needs and functional requirements
Work closely with departments to understand and lead the execution of projects to achieve product quality goals
Foster a success-oriented, accountable, and ethical environment
Mentor and manage the quality engineering team, perform reviews, and ensure proper goal alignment
Performs other activities and duties related to the role, as directed


Desired Skills and Experience
Education & Experience
Undergraduate degree required, preferably in computer science or MIS
Must possess “expert level” knowledge and experience in directing and managing quality assurance environments
Minimum of 10 years progressive management experience in quality assurance or related field, with a solid understanding of business management
Proven track record in building and leading successful quality assurance engineering teams
Knowledge of, and depth in, quality assurance tools
Exceptional leader with excellent interpersonal communications, negotiation and creative problem solving skills
High degree of flexibility with a "can-do" attitude
Ability to function as a "hands-on" leader with the ability to create and execute on plans
Ability to work well as a team player
Solid experience in working with technology companies, and in building process oriented structure, which facilitates the delivery of products
Excellent customer relationship skills required
