Director - Networking Solutions Marketing - Avaya - Santa Clara


Job description
The Director of the Networking Solutions Marketing organization is responsible for driving the global marketing strategy, positioning and offering of the company’s networking product/services enterprise portfolio.
The successful candidate will demonstrate proven experience in enabling sales teams and business partners (channel) to drive the top line growth of a broad communications portfolio via a consultative selling and services-led motion.


Cloud is transforming IT and Avaya is a clear leader in enabling customers to accelerate their journey to cloud. The Networking Solutions Marketing leader will be responsible for defining and marketing comprehensive and compelling cloud solutions based on Avaya’s innovative Fabric Connect-enabled portfolio and VENA architecture.

Core to this role is the ability to develop simple and effective conversation guides through which the channel can communicate “The Art of the Possible” to Avaya customers, thus enabling the rapid discovery of business opportunities by matching Avaya solutions to the customers’ key business issues.

The marketing plan will be designed to enable the channel to communicate a message of differentiated value to line of business leaders, as well as IT and technical decision makers.

These marketing strategies will enable the channel to effectively position and sell the entire Avaya portfolio, thus helping to win new clients and increase share of wallet in existing accounts.

The Director of Networking Solutions Marketing will be responsible for developing Market and Solutions Requirements documents, Avaya Sales Playbook and other core marketing assets to help the sales team drive sales through the entire buyer’s journey. The leader will also define new solutions to help expand Avaya’s business into new untapped segments.

The Networking Solutions Marketing team will create and champion simple, compelling, competitively differentiated messages, content and tools for the Avaya channel to accelerate the market awareness and adoption of Avaya’s entire networking portfolio.

Professional Experience
10+ years senior marketing leadership experience in two or more of the following areas:
Solutions Marketing, Vertical Marketing, Product marketing, Service marketing, Professional Services, Consulting, Sales Management.
Managed solutions and/or portfolios that exceeded $100M in annual sales.
Proven track record to help grow the top line
Strong business acumen ideally with BU/business P&L management responsibility.
10+ year experience in the IT industry across one or more of the following segments:
Cloud, networking, security
Strong team management and leadership experience, having managed teams of at least 10 people in multiple geographies.
Proven ability to work across large organizations, lead by example and collaborate effectively with all business units, with emphasis on Sales and Services organizations.

Previous sales experience is a strong plus.
