Director - Home HemoDialysis - DaVita - Denver
Job description
This position provides leadership and support to key initiatives to develop DaVita’s Home HemoDialysis (HHD) programs to be the clear leader in clinical outcomes, operational effectiveness, patient/caregiver satisfaction and physician partner satisfaction. This position will also spearhead activities related to growing the HHD patient census through attracting new patients to therapy and retaining the HHD patients we already have. He/she will play a key role in various strategic initiatives related to the full offering of Home modalities. And, the position will be responsible for HHD vendor management, 3-yr planning and expanding the way HHD is offered at DaVita.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No current direct reports – but, this position may have an Analyst or Sr. Analyst reporting to it.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.
Support HHD Growth and Retention Initiatives
Provide project management support, coordination, leadership and analytics to selected HHD growth and retention initiatives. (e.g. CKD education)
Direct project management of specific growth and patient retention initiatives. (e.g. software implementation)
Identify growth and retention strategies and tactics that will continue to build HHD modality census.
Lead efforts to achieve operations excellence in HHD Operations
Support development and implementation of selected current HHD Operations Excellence
initiatives. Example initiatives include: Outcomes Reporting, Teammate Development, Communications, Vendor Management and IT.
Lead national efforts to establish operations excellence in HHD Operations including development and implement of BDPs, management of HHD innovation pilots and process improvements.
Lead national efforts to optimize technology support of current and future state Home Operations (e.g. software upgrades, vendor initiatives)
Implement a continuous quality improvement culture in Home organization.
Achieve cost/revenue effectiveness in HHD Operations
Identify profitability improvement levers to impact financial performance of HHD. (e.g. labor efficiency models, vendor supplies management)
Lead national initiatives to capture financial savings identified
Track, trend and lobby for increased MFD reimbursement when appropriate (e.g. commercial payors, Medicare jurisdictions, DVA payor contracting)
Work closely with Home Finance Team to understand therapy economics and lead efforts
communication to all levels of teammates
Provide support to Field Group (geographic) Home organizations to capture benefits of national organization.
Oversee development, maintenance and enhancement of national materials that support
field organization.
Lead Home Improvement Team (HIT) with Sr. Director of Clinical Services to drive P&P refinement, creation of new CQI projects and check-ins on therapy pain-points to frontline teammates
Partner with other national support departments to ensure optimal delivery of programs and support provided to Home field organization.
Determine key areas of value added through vendor partnerships and implement plans to
achieve partnership potential.
Manage primary vendor supply relationships
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in vendor-provided suppot
Support Purchasing in vendor contract negotiations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required):
§ A minimum of 5-10 years of management experience in healthcare with progressive responsibilities focused on project management.
§ MBA or graduate degree in natural sciences or healthcare-related field.
§ Effective written and verbal communicator with all levels of management, executives and outside vendors.
§ Excellent interpersonal skills, able to lead and manage resources in a highly matrixed organization.
§ Strong project management skills including planning, development and delivery.
§ Ability to take initiative, plan, prioritize and execute, independently, the completion of all projects in a fast-paced environment.
§ Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through
§ Strong time management skills, ability to prioritize, and the ability to multi-task effectively
§ Innovative approach to problem solving
