Director - Digital Experience - Fidelity Investments - Smithfield


Job description
The Digital Distribution team responsible for the Fidelity.com platform experience is currently looking for a Digital Experience Director with expertise in personal financial management and data aggregation to join our fast-paced, cross-functional team. The Platform Experience team applies digital expertise to develop meaningful and integrated digital customer experiences as part of a broader platform strategy. In this role, you will actively partner with business product, segment strategy, UX design, and technology teams to deliver the best digital experience in the financial services industry.

The target candidate will bring a strong background in digital product/experience management and technology. The Director will need to aggressively manage a portfolio of initiatives through the full project life-cycle, from strategy development through successful implementation, including managing the relationship with the data aggregation vendor. This role also requires excellent written and oral communication skills, and a highly collaborative nature. Importantly, the candidate would be expected to demonstrate and share digital thought leadership across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities
Drives the vision for the personal financial management digital experience; leading decision making on experience capability integration and overall experience roadmap

Ensures solutions deliver integrated digital experiences that achieve overall customer experience objectives --- approachable, empowering, personal, simple, and easy to use
Manages the day-to-day relationship with the data aggregation vendor, including driving strategic enhancements, ongoing issue resolution, and statement of work management
Manages and prioritizes long-term product roadmaps, iterative release schedules, and integration points to carefully control the degree of change introduced to Fidelity.com customers over time
Manage monthly releases, which includes design review, legal review, and BAT testing
Serves as the personal financial management experience champion; evangelizes the experience throughout the organization
Monitors external best-in-class digital experiences and market trends among competition and cross-category industry leaders; identifies potential impacts on experience strategy
Works with key product and segment partners to identify capabilities required to meet priority customer needs and delivers the solution in context of the overall platform
Defines and monitors key performance indicators and general usage data and use them to identify targeted opportunities for improvement
Demonstrates subject matter expertise across digital teams to share best practices, interdependencies, and alignment opportunities across the organization
Synthesizes project accomplishments, decisions, and issues for senior executive presentations

Desired Skills and Experience
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
8+ years of digital product or digital experience management
Financial Services experience is required; Personal Financial Management or Data Aggregation experience preferred
Experience with Lean Start-Up and/or Agile development methodology is required. Certified Product Owner is a plus
Skills & Knowledge
Strategic thinking –ability to develop a “big-picture” vision and assess the role of the digital channel in context of customer and business partner needs
Strong leadership qualities, able to influence and champion ideas effectively in a highly matrix-managed environment, and across multiple and diverse groups
Solid understanding of application programming interfaces
Strong project management & multitasking skills
Excellent communication skills – written/oral
Familiarity with modern web site design/technology with a focus on customer centric design
Fluent in identifying and understanding emerging digital trends that are influencing consumer behavior and expectations
Demonstrated track record of successfully bringing large scale programs to market
Flexibility; comfortable tackling ambiguous challenges
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Positive, collaborative mindset, with a desire to have fun while working hard
