Director - Account Management - Amazon - Seattle


Job description
The Director, Account Management is a key team member of our NA Merchant Services organization. This role is focused on the strategic aspects of managing the customer relationships with our largest Sellers and the optimization of their engagement with Amazon Services across all of our products and solutions including Selling on Amazon and Fulfillment by Amazon. This individual will lead and help build a new team of Account Managers focused on our Softlines business (Clothing, Shoes, Watches, Jewelry, Luggage) while also personally supporting some of our most strategic Sellers.

Sales of products by third-party Sellers on our websites represent more than one-third of units sold, and the Seller Services business is growing faster than our Retail business. We are a business development organization; we drive growth for over 2MM Amazon Sellers through business intelligence, cross-selling efforts and integrated Account Management. We are successful by focusing on aggressive growth for our Sellers’ businesses.

The Director, Account Management will interface internally with leaders of our category teams and product organizations and will report on all aspects of the seller’s business with Amazon to executive members of the Amazon Services organization. The role will also include liaising with our technical account management organization and our fulfillment operations teams to provide oversight and root cause analysis of issues and opportunities affecting the Seller business.

Key responsibilities include:
Providing thought leadership around planning, roadmaps and execution
Managing the Seller relationship by championing the Seller’s needs at Amazon.
Build strong communication channels at all levels of the Seller’s organization, set proper expectations, provide clear status communications, and manage towards a growth plan.
Managing and driving the growth of the Seller’s business: build and execute on a strategic account plan that delivers on key business opportunities for the Seller and Amazon.
Managing key improvement initiatives and projects: drive new product launches and relationship extensions by partnering with the business development and onboarding teams.
Analyzing the business: conduct deep dive analysis and provide routine executive-level reporting on the seller’s current business and future opportunities. Publish recommendations and action plans based on data.
Manage a small team of Account Managers
Demonstrated success in exceeding sales targets using a consultative, solutions-focused approach is required.
Candidates must have superior communication and presentation skills, an ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and be very passionate about success and winning.
Experience using analysis to gather data for the purpose of making business decisions

Ability to work closely with Sellers, product management teams, and internal customers to identify and meet their needs
Retail e-commerce experience and knowledge, high comfort level with technical solution building
Knowledge in major retail verticals
MBA preferred
Strong problem-solving and service orientation
