Global Product Compliance Manager - Monster - Brisbane
Job description
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of this position is to effectively lead and perform global regulatory and compliance activities for Monster’s new and developing products as directed. Provide International (outside North America) regulatory submission support. Coordinate with International regulators on submission reviews/approvals and ensure compliance with required regulations and established corporate and Business Unit standards. Provide direction to cross functional project teams as necessary for compliance to internal and external standards as required. Provide regulatory interface during the product development process and throughout the entire product life cycle including post-market surveillance. Provide compliance support for various product and process related activities
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Global Product Compliance Manager will:
• Define regulatory requirements necessary for new and developing products which currently includes cable interconnects, power products, mobile accessories, headphones, speakers, Bluetooth devices, computer peripherals, etc. Complete North American regulatory assessments as required to support projects and provide direction to project teams to support new product development and product modifications as required.
• Provide direction on application of external standards for all projects as required. Execute US and International product submission strategies as directed. Maintain all regulatory documentation to ensure availability for audits.
• Assist in completing international regulatory assessments as required supporting new product development and product modifications. Position may execute international PTFs as directed.
• Lead regulatory activities for product field corrective actions, post market activities to maintain compliance and ensure that product approvals are properly maintained and product warranty claims are properly managed.
• Coordinates timely renewal of certificates, licenses, and registrations.
• Assist in creation and approval of product labeling and instructions for use, review and approve marketing literature and other items for compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the existing and all new acts
• Review Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) for global regulatory impact.
• Author, review, and/or approve internal operating procedures related to regulatory affairs.
• Author and maintain all Product Technical Files and Label controls for products
• Review and submit necessary changes to existing registered products with compliance agencies
• Coordinate all activities with internal Monster resources and outside vendors for implementation of necessary controls for products
• Coordinate with QA, Engineering, Sourcing and Operational teams to ensure all necessary regulatory activities related to their areas of operations are well implemented.
• Effectively manage Product Management Change Requests to comply with process
• Implement and monitor compliance activities internally and externally. Escalate process failures to Global Director of Quality.
• Represent Quality and Regulatory functions during customer and agency audits
• Skilled with internal customers; ensures frequent stakeholder communications for input and alignment; well-honed “radar” for situations requiring stakeholder management.
• Strong communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; credible with internal stakeholders and external audiences.
• A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; able to motivate themselves, suppliers, cross functional team members and others.
Desired Skills and Experience
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will have the following experience or knowledge in the following areas:
At least 5-10 years' experience in product compliance law covering a variety of countries across North America, Europe and Asia
Specific and detailed knowledge of:
Materials regulations: e.g., RoHS, REACH, Prop. 65, China REACH, Conflict Minerals
Product regulations: e.g., CE, CPSC/ CPSIA, C-Tick, UL, CSA, Toy Regulations, FCC, CCC, recycling requirements (product and packaging), electronic waste/WEEE, battery regulations (labeling, qualification, registration, recycling, etc.), import/export requirements
Labeling requirements for product and packaging
Consumer Warranty requirements
Knowledge of electronic/mechanical component construction and manufacturing processes and supply management concepts
Ability and experience coordinating team members from multiple disciplines to complete required compliance processes and documentation.
EDUCATION
BS or MS degree in an Engineering or technical field.
Experience with regulatory processes related to and launching mass produced consumer electronics.
