Director - Information Technology - Aetna - Salt Lake City


Job description
POSITION SUMMARY: This position provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation and coordination of the information and technology systems for the organization and ensures the continuous delivery and operation of integrated information systems. The position manages multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, office automation, document control, enterprise resource planning, and intelligent transportation systems.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops, coordinates, guides and maintains IT systems strategic and operational plans in support of the organizations strategic plan.
- Conducts enterprise-wide information technology planning by consulting with internal staff to identify and prioritize the information technology needs of the organization.
- Provides guidance and leadership on evaluation, selection, implementation and maintenance of the organizations information systems by evaluating alternatives, performing appropriate cost benefit analysis and recommending solutions that balance cost and acceptable risks.
- Build and manage a highly skilled technology team and oversee data center operations, corporate IT, and customer support.
- Leads technical services team including call center support, and SLA adherence.
- Establish hosting standards and methods that drive rapid delivery of value and ensure high availability solutions.
- Manage core infrastructure and third party vendor management such as computer, voice, and networking to ensure high availability systems delivered in a cost effective manner.
- Responsible for overall budget including compensation, outside services, hosting, and capital expenses.
- Implements monitoring systems and infrastructure including managed metrics to drive decision making.
- Ensures the effective operation of a company-wide incident reporting and management system.
- Ensuring security processes meet audit and regulatory requirements, services and infrastructure process meet internal and contractual SLAs.

EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Master's degree a plus).

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Information Management/Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
- International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium is desired.
- Information Technology/MCITP: Enterprise Administrator is desired.
- Information Technology/Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) for Microsoft .NET is desired.
- Information Technology/MCITP: Database Administrator 2008 is desired.

Required Skills:
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 5+ years experience in computer operations, networking, telecommunications, information technology management/administration, applications and system development within a complex and changing Information Technology environment, document control, and enterprise resource planning.
- 5+ years experience in leadership position.
- 7+ years experience in software engineering.
- Experience leading enterprise initiatives.
- Healthcare industry experience preferred.
