Director - Creative Services - Neustar - McLean


Job description
Neustar is looking for an experienced Director, Creative Services eager to take on a new challenge — the opportunity to develop and lead the creative group that supports all design initiatives for the company. This group will work directly with internal clients to create both offline and online design elements and campaigns that are innovative, original and smart. The Director, Creative Services will oversee the development of digital ad creative as well as integrated marketing solutions, and is responsible for the creative integrity of all design work. This role is key in ensuring that Neustar internal clients receive the creative support they need during the sales and delivery process. The Director, Creative Services reports to the VP, Brand & Corporate Marketing.

College degree with a MBA preferred. Consulting and/or advertising/marketing agency background a plus with a passion for technology and/or media.
15+ years related experience in marketing with an understanding of the dynamics of the Internet
A deep knowledge and experience in developing B2B or B2C brands and can quickly execute brand related efforts in a matrixed organization across multiple geographic locations.
Strong financial and budgetary acumen. Past P/L responsibility a plus.
Proven track record of working with sales and executive leadership teams.
Proven track record overseeing creative teams responsible for all facets of online and offline design.
Excellent communicator who can command a room while also connecting individually with key stakeholders and clients.
Is curious, flexible and can quickly adjust in a face-paced working environment.
Must be deeply rooted in business-to-business marketing, but experience in consumer marketing, direct marketing and/or relationship marketing is a plus.
Ability to think creatively and strategically, and mentor others on how to do so.
Experience with traditional and digital media, and a solid understanding of the unique needs of TV, radio and newspaper properties.
Ability to manage department budgets, develop plans for the future and help shape the trajectory of the Neustar creative group.
Thoughtful but firm approach to managing creative resources.

Desired Skills and Experience
Responsibilities – Day to Day:

· Own creative operations for Neustar related to all design elements – including website and campaigns.
· Work with the field to gather inputs, develop appropriate strategies and evolve the Neustar’s brand, look and feel.
· Stay abreast of industry trends and help develop best practices for Neustar for timely issues like viewability, new ad units, etc.
· Develop creative briefs and direct creative planners, designers and outsourced teams.
· Ensure that the group delivers on time, on budget and with the highest quality possible — all while achieving the internal clients’ goals.
· Collaborate with other department heads, including other marketing groups, sales and product management to ensure delivery across functional teams.
· Help evaluate complex technology situations and deliver succinct recommendations.
· Interpret performance analytics metrics and lead the creative team on how to glean insights from the data.
· Evaluate vendors when necessary and manage those relationships.
· Provide leadership and remain dedicated to the vision of the company.
· Recommend staffing and compensation changes.
· Promote the group’s capabilities at speaking events
