Amazon.com Marketplace is looking for a Technology Leader to lead the Marketplace Selection Technology engineering organization. Amazon Marketplace enables millions of Sellers worldwide to list hundred of millions of products and make inventory and price updates for inventory across dozens of different categories and languages. While constantly ingesting new selection, we also strive to continuously improve the quality of existing catalog created by Amazon Sellers by identifying defects and fixing them using automated technology solutions.

Our vision is to build the Earth’s largest and most complete catalog. To achieve this vision we will continually innovate with technology and process - and the Leader of Software Development will be at the forefront of this vision. This leader will be responsible for innovation and delivery of the global Selection Technology for Amazon Marketplace. The leader will be expected to have end-to-end responsibility for technology for Amazon Seller product catalog and to lead the team to build the world’s largest and most complete selection of products where Customers can find and discover anything they want to purchase. This leader is also expected to scale Amazon’s Selection Platform organization to effectively meet the evolving needs of the global seller population. This individual will be a strong and inspirational leader who will raise the bar on hiring, developing and retaining the best talent to continue to build our world-class engineering team. You will guide all facets of Seller Listing Experience development on Amazon Marketplace platform worldwide and for both small and very large Sellers. As a Senior Leader, you will need to use a combination of analytical skills, business judgment, customer focus and strategic thinking to innovate on behalf of our buyers and sellers. This leader will have strong cross-functional skills and will be comfortable working with cutting-edge technologies across multiple development teams. You will be comfortable with technologies such as very large-scale distributed systems developed using technologies such as Java, SQL and no-SQL data stores, Machine Learning, Ontology, Natural Language Processing and semantic analysis. You will have a proven track record of owning and delivering world-class experiences that raise-the-bar from an innovation, usability, and design perspective. You will deliver value in a fast-paced, global, dynamic business environment incrementally and frequently.

The role is based in Seattle and will be responsible for teams in Seattle, Phoenix and India and stakeholders spread across the globe. This position will require moderate travel to Amazon offices and meet Sellers worldwide. This role represents significant intellectual, technical and innovation challenges with enormous opportunity for business impact.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science.
Master’s degree in engineering or an MBA from top-tier school.
