Vertical Marketing Director - Manufacturing - NetSuite - San Mateo


Job description

We are looking for an exceptional individual to become the leader of our vertical marketing efforts for the Manufacturing industry. This director level position will play a critical role in determining the success of NetSuite’s Manufacturing industry team. This driven individual will be chartered with managing the budget and all marketing activities for targeting the manufacturing industry including messaging, product positioning, lead gen programs, customer outreach, sales tools, collateral, tradeshows and events specific to reaching manufacturing businesses.

An ideal candidate will have experience as a product marketing director or vertical marketing director who understands how to market to the manufacturing industry. The candidate must have a very strong understanding of the strategic goals and the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing company – particularly the consumers expectations of brands, commerce, order management, distribution and manufacturing needs for mid-to-large manufacturers. The ideal individual will be a fast learner and able to think strategically while executing on near term goals to show rapid progress.

Responsibilities:

• Define and establish the marketing strategies and related go-to-market activities for NetSuite’s product offering for the manufacturing Industry
• Own and manage the marketing budget allocated for targeting the specified vertical marketing and decide on appropriate mix of spend to ensure success of the business
• Manage demand generation and awareness programs such as lead gen, nurturing campaigns, social media, field events etc. to meet revenue targets established for the business
• Formulate positioning and messaging for the product’s unique advantages in the market place
• Drive vertical messaging, as well as key features and benefits through white papers, case studies, presentations, web site and sales collateral
• Work with Product Marketing on competitive analysis and collateral that will assist the sales organization when faced with competitors during the sales cycle
• Work very closely with Sales to ensure their marketing needs are met in driving to corporate objectives and revenue numbers
• Identify and remove obstacles to market success for NetSuite products in the specified target markets
• Provide product information to meet a variety of internal and external needs including press releases, analyst relations, web site and internal training

Desired Skills and Experience
• Proven track record and experience with marketing within the manufacturing Industry
• Passion for marketing and promoting high technology products with a focus on meeting revenue targets
• Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to make recommendations and decisions independently
• Must possess the ability to influence positive thinking and gain acceptance from technical, non-technical and management audiences
• Self-starter with the ability to work in a very fast paced environment
• Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations and exceptional creativity to provide and execute on solutions
• Superior writing, verbal and time management skills
• 7-10+ years in a marketing or product marketing role in ERP, Manufacturing or CRM systems
• BA/BS in a relevant field, MBA a plus
