Job description
As Principal Product Manager, you will be responsible for the definition and development of the product roadmap for our Kindle family of consumer electronic devices. You will help shape Kindle strategy while driving engineering and features based on this vision. You will have an opportunity to see and work on new technology before anyone else. We are looking for someone who is customer focused and mobile technology savvy with a passion for mobile devices. You must be responsive, flexible and able to thrive in an open, collaborative environment. Responsibilities:
· Lead product roadmap and strategy for Kindle devices with hardware and software components
· Work closely with executive staff and engineering leadership to develop and deliver innovative consumer products
· Partner with key stakeholders to define product strategy while supporting metrics required to deliver a best-in-class mobile customer experience
· Engage with cross-functional teams including: Conceptual Engineering, Industrial Design, Hardware, Software, Operations and Finance to bring products to market
· Create buy-in for product vision both internally and externally and evangelize that vision within the organization
· Develop detailed hardware and software business requirements that can be used to create product specifications and design
· Manage prioritization and trade-offs for customer experience, performance and features
· Manage delivery of current products concurrently with future product planning
· Bachelor's degree or higher with a technical discipline
· 10+ years of professional experience with 7+ years of consumer electronic device product management experience
· Experience working on both mobile device hardware and software
· Demonstrated experience shipping commercially successful products to global market segments
· Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products and projects on tight deadlines
· Experience managing complex product development cycles
· Knowledge of mobile technologies, products and tools
· MBA or Master’s degree
· Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives
· Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions
· Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
