Director - Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis - Remington Arms Company - Madison


Job description
The Director of Corporate FP&A is responsible for coordinating and managing the ongoing FGI financial planning, analysis and management reporting cycle for monthly close, monthly forecast, annual budget process, Board of Directors (BOD) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) presentations, and the internal analysis of the company's financial performance.

The successful candidate should understand and be experienced in financial planning, forecasting and business performance analysis and reporting. Additionally, experience working in dynamic organizations under tight deadlines is preferred. This position will develop financial models and evaluate business proposals, working closely with senior executive staff and department management across the organization. Prior supervisory experience is required.
Coordinate monthly management reporting process (schedule, content, reporting packages).
Coordinate monthly forecast process (schedule, content, reporting packages).
Coordinate annual budgeting process including lessons learned from prior year (schedule, content, reporting packages).
Assist in establishing and monitoring key financial metrics.
Assist with Ad hoc projects for the SVP Finance/CFO where financial support is needed.
Provides financial insight through thought process, modeling, and any other tools to aid in reaching the appropriate financial decisions for the business.
Perform overall budgeting and forecasting analysis on consolidated Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements.
Act as the liaison between Operations, Commercial and Corporate finance to consolidate and summarize monthly reporting KPIs, forecasting and other financial/operational requests.
Focus on the development of team structure, roles and responsibilities to effectively support ongoing deliverables / business needs.
Team with Director of Integration & Change Management and IT to provide insight and direction on reporting and systems capability including future business needs.
Work with Corporate Controller and Accounting to complete and review investor presentations including required bank submissions and regulatory filings.
Support M&A modeling and underwriting including necessary (re)financing activities.
Identify, analyze, and report on market/industry trends and competitive landscape.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises a team of analysts.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
Seven to ten years planning and analysis or related experience preferred .
or equivalent combination of education and experience, with emphasis in Accounting and Finance.
Investment banking, due diligence and transaction/financing modeling preferred
MBA or CPA preferred.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
This person will also possess strong financial modeling skills, especially income statement and cash flow information.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have outstanding PC skills in Microsoft environment, including spreadsheet, database, word processing and presentation capabilities.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, proven problem solving, leadership and interpersonal skills and be a proven team player, who is highly organized and achievement oriented.
Experience with reporting financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Experience in leading and managing the budgeting process.
Self Starter able to handle multiple demands and competing priorities, detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
Ability to effectively present findings to senior management in a clear and concise manner.
Exceptional analytical skills.
Creative thinker with the capability to think out of the box.
Strong work ethic with a can do attitude.
Must have the necessary experience, critical judgment skills and demonstrated effectiveness in delivering timely results, sometimes in the absence of complete data.
