Director - Marketing Analytics - K12 - Herndon
Job description
The Director, Marketing Analytics will help define the roadmap for the Company’s marketing analytics team and will engage with stakeholders in planning, designing, and implementing analytics dashboards and reports that align with executive requirements. This position manages analysts as well as develops, validates, analyzes, and produces reports and dashboards including but not limited to leads, conversion metrics, and other KPIs relevant to various stakeholders within marketing and other senior executives.
• Performs analysis on leads, calls, conversions, and enrollments to help executives understand the real time status;
• Brings ideas on various slices of data cuts to understand the problem areas or trends in the business compared to prior year, week, or quarter;
• Presents not only the information from the underlying data, but articulates the insights and story from that information that will help make informed decisions about spending marketing dollars across channels, geographies, and campaigns;
• Guides marketing analysts to develop standard operating procedures, including automating and implementing reporting tools to gain efficiencies in producing recurring marketing reports;
• Partners with business users, technology development, and BI reporting team to articulate changes needed in the systems and data warehouse in order to pull and analyze information efficiently;
• Provides guidance to developers in researching and understanding source-system data: the behavior and meanings of fields within various applications;
• Performs marketing program response analysis as required;
• Supports various internal marketing teams with data extract requests and list pulls;
• Leverages interpersonal skills to work in a team environment and communicate effectively across a variety of stakeholder groups; • Facilitates the coordination and implementation of ideas and activities between the various marketing teams;
• Develops high quality presentations, documentation, and analytical materials for consumption by senior management;
• Develops organizational processes/workflows, tool usage, and participates in process improvement activities;
• Resolves issues and conflicts as they arise.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

• Ability to present complex quantitative analysis;
• Ability to understand and build data relationships prior to performing data analysis;
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and of data warehouse architecture;
• Proficiency with data analysis and business intelligence tools;
• Ability to utilize SQL databases and queries and to write SQL;
• Manages and queries complex data sets.
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degrees in Marketing, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field AND
· Ten (10) years of experience in database market analysis AND
· Ten (10) years of experience in SQL and database technologies OR
· Equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates and Licenses: None required.
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Advanced use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
· Advanced knowledge and experience working with Microsoft SQL server, Microsoft Excel, and some experience with SalesForce.com
· Strong communication skills
· Ability to pass required background check
DESIRED Qualifications:
· Knowledge of database marketing techniques including targeting, segmentation, and list processes
· Experience with Tableau and Marketo
Experience with SAS or SPSS
