Job description
Market Intelligence Director - Membership & Marketing
Functions as a subject matter expert accountable for developing and implementing statistical models with actionable insights for the ABA's membership, marketing and business efforts.

Assists with the identification and prioritization of topics for statistical analysis.
Queries, collects and organizes legal profession statistical data from internal and third-party sources. Integrates and cleans/transforms data, develops statistical models and conducts analysis of membership, marketing and business efforts of the ABA.
Based upon data analysis, assists with recommendations for changes and improvements to ABA business practices.
Identifies data development needs and recommends changes and improvements to ABA data collection and data availability efforts.
Functions as the subject matter expert to the ABA organization on data and modeling and statistical analysis.
Oversees execution of the National Lawyer Population Survey.
Performs other related duties as required.

Desired Skills and Experience
Basic Qualifications
Possession of a Master’s degree in Predictive Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Business Administration, or similar.
At least three years’ experience supporting a business’ requirement which must have included predictive modeling, generalized linear modeling, ensemble modeling, resampling methods, model validation and testing, dimensionality reduction, clustering, and/or Bayesian approaches to data analysis.
Experience providing subject matter expertise on statistical analytics to stakeholders and applying findings to improve business practices, identifying target subject behavioral drivers, and/or enhancing revenue opportunities.
Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel. Advanced level skill in SAS or other analytics software.

Preferred Qualifications
Possession of a Doctorate’s degree in Predictive Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Business Administration, or similar. Advanced level skill in programming language such as SQL. Previous experience with Adobe Analytics (Omniture SiteCatalyst), Google Analytics or other digital analytics software.
As a normal course of business, this job will typically require travel of less than 5% of the time.
