Director - Quality Engineering - YP - Los Angeles

Job description
YP is looking for a Director of Quality Engineer, you will work closely with development managers, product managers, release managers and support to build and release the highest quality product. You will also work with Quality Engineers at a conceptual and code level to create practical, cost effective solutions. You will be responsible for making sure we have the right execution plan with product quality as the top most priority. You'' measure progress against tasks, timelines, taking action if needed. In addition, you'll collaborate and work effectively with other managers and offshore teams.

Responsibilities:

- Include technical leadership, resource management for personnel & hardware, project scoping, tracking & delivery, budgeting, project risk management, involvement in test architecture, design and technical code reviews
- On time delivery of project deadlines, project tracking, status reports
- Participate in core team decision making process, cross-departmental communication with other teams such as product marketing, program management, support, and other QE teams
- Participate in creating Master test plans and specifications
- Manage implementation of various types of tests in Java, C++, & Shell scripting
- Help improve overall quality of the product by identifying bugs in the product
- Work closely with developers/development managers to resolve technical project issues
- Help drive adoption of automated testing tools to support rapid development

Desired Skills and Experience
- 5+ years' experience as a QE or Development Manager
- Java or C++ programming experience
- Familiarity with Cloud Infrastructure
- Past experience in Object Oriented Design (OOD), C, C++, C#, PERL or Shell scripting
- Experience in SW Engineering (QA methodologies), Test Automation, White box testing
- Has demonstrated ability to lead and deliver quality products to market
- Experience working in Linux & Windows environment
- Good communications skills
- Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent
