Director - Marketing - DentaQuest - Boston


Job description
The Marketing Director will be responsible for developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies and programs – both B2B and B2C -- designed to contribute to the achievement of corporate and business objections. This will require an understanding of the brand and business unit, in addition to environmental and competitive marketplace. This individual will interface regularly with an integrated team consisting of research, product, sales, underwriting, and others related to strategic and tactical marketing and communication activities. This position will report to the Vice President of Marketing, and manage several team members.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Contributes to business goals by strategizing and planning integrated marketing communications plans, developing platform media, message and budgets. Determines and recommends the appropriate marketing mix between advertising, public relations, market research and other activities.
Aids in strategic direction by participating in leadership groups and developing and implementing strategic direction.
Develops team by managing the overall activities of the department including employee coaching, development and review.
Manages outside relationships by determining, developing, maintaining, and evaluating partnerships with advertising agency, design firms and other vendors.
Responsible for the overall management/coordination of the DDMA website.
Determines and manages the DDMA marketing budget.
Responsible for RFP responses.
Establishes and maintains consistent and professional corporate identity, and implement identity throughout the company by collaborating with the marketing team, graphic designers, agency and consultants.
Strictly adheres to and guarantees the adherence of others, to the Delta Dental Plans association brand guidelines.
Other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Experience
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant graduate degree is preferred.
A seasoned business professional with 15 + years work experience developing and executing integrated marketing and communications programs.
Work experience within the health insurance industry highly desirable
Management/supervisory experience, 10+ years.
Experience developing go-to-market strategies for new businesses, products and markets.
Strong analytical capabilities and ability to use research.
Strong general business acumen.
Ability to lead strategic marketing initiatives by effectively navigating corporate-wide leadership buy-in and participation.
Experienced in state-of-the-art marketing methods and technologies including web-based and social media.
Experienced strategist and a tactician that can roll up their sleeves and execute.
Superior communication skills with multiple audiences.
Ability to effortlessly develop relationships with both internal and external teams.
Ability to lead a diverse and sophisticated marketing team.
Excellent writing and interpersonal skills.
PC and Internet savvy.
Strong oral and presentations skills.
Leadership/influencer skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Energetic and resourceful.
Organized and attentive to details and deadlines.
Experience working with graphic designers and printers.
Familiarity with all broad and direct communications media.
Experience working with senior management.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Ability to travel.
Valid Driver’s License.
