The director of client partnerships leads strategic relationships with senior and mid-level executives at key accounts. The person in this position drives integration across all agency disciplines collaborating on key initiatives, and leverages the agency’s expertise and capabilities across multiple marketing channels. The director supports the account and creative teams with deep knowledge, insights, big picture ideation, evaluation of specific ideas and assurance that implementation corresponds to determined engagement and messaging strategies, driving results for our clients.
We are looking for an experienced strategist with a communications planning background to lead the strategy engagements for a portfolio of leading high-tech, retail, industrial and financial services global brands. You are curious, authoritative, and conversant in many areas, a great presenter who can connect with clients and inspire their confidence and ongoing commitment. You can challenge conventional thinking when necessary, possess entrepreneurial skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects and a heavy workload. You are collaborative, like to play a key role in an ensemble cast, know when to listen and when to ask questions, are comfortable with ambiguity, and passionate about having a measurable impact on the client’s business.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build and support client partnerships—concentrate on growing and enriching relationships through best practices
Listen for opportunities to engage other agency disciplines and develop strategies to turn them into
further assignments
Facilitate key information, insights and actions that inspire account and creative teams to develop high-impact client solutions (analysis, synthesis of strategic info, business case support, etc.)
Support client presentations and business development with strategic thinking, research and analysis
Collaborate proactively with the business development manager and account directors in prospecting activities/pitches
Provide team/brand competitive assessments and industry news
Lend support to account teams to create comprehensive account plans
Help ensure the quality of the creative brief process
Synthesize analyses from discovery audits to help identify client opportunities
Collaborate with client teams to develop strategic recommendations
Provide guidance with other partners to troubleshoot client issue
Desired Skills and Experience
REQUIREMENTS
Four-year degree in communications or related field from an accredited college or university
15-plus years in senior client/account management
Dynamic personality and the ability to effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences
Self-motivation
Experience leading conversations with key senior clients and stakeholders
Enjoy B2B and technology-oriented marketing, comfortable working across diverse industries and categories
Extensive experience driving integrated marketing solutions to meet clients’ business needs
Experience leading engagements in large complex global organizations
Deep understanding of consumer behavior, branding, campaign planning and management
Experience monitoring key trends that impact the marketplace, technology and consumer behavior
New business experience and/or interest preferred
Understanding of metrics and experience working with metrics strategist to interpret data, develop key insights and assess the impact of recommendations
Track record of leadership, innovation and positive influence on your teams and clients
Demonstrated experience selling ideas
Know your way around PPTs and white boards
Strong analytical strategic and organizational abilities
Excellent oral and written communications skills
