Job description
We are looking for a Director of Admissions for the Everest College - Alhambra, CA campus.
General Job Description:
You are organized and professional with strong leadership skills, and really shine when coaching, mentoring, and managing a team. In this multi-faceted role you will be responsible for overseeing the student enrollment process. You will set goals for the Admissions Department and all of its team members, and manage both the flow and distribution of leads. You will work with the Corporate Advertising Department as well as others to build partnerships and ensure a steady pipeline of leads. You will also track student progress and work to solve student candidate issues. Most importantly, you will ensure that your department is functioning at optimal levels and will make a difference in the lives of many.
Job Responsibilities:
People Management and Coaching
• Assess employee performance and quality of work by completing regular observations and reviewing ESM call recordings; provide feedback and support development through monthly coaching sessions, quarterly check-ins, and annual reviews for direct reports; conducting these assessments and coaching sessions is an essential part of this role
• Make recommendations for individual and team development based on performance reviews, and provide guidance and coaching to direct reports on an ongoing basis
• Initiate, design, and deliver departmental training and developmental activities that cover a variety of topics
• Lead the development of criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs
• Oversee personnel activities, including conducting interviews, hiring new employees, terminating employees as necessary, etc.
• Encourage professional growth and foster cooperation amongst staff members and departments
Department Operations
• Establish goals for the Admissions Department and its employees
• Communicate effectively with Campus Leadership and participate as an active member of the institution’s management team
• Partner with and provide feedback to the Corporate Advertising department, and ensure proactive communication and cohesive working relationships with all other departments
• Lead departmental and team meetings, and attend meetings with external and/or internal liaisons as necessary
• Conduct management meetings with subordinate personnel to establish, delineate, and review organizational policies
• Manage departmental workflow, allocate key activities, and manage vacancy scheduling
• Answer staff questions and resolve escalated issues
• Manage by walking around (MBWA)
• Perform other duties as assigned by local leaders
Process Management
• Compile composite activity and forecast reports from individual employee reports as required by management
• Maintain and submit all student progress tracking reports in an accurate and timely manner
• Manage and maintain budget for all Admissions-related events, including open houses, promotional events, travel, etc.
• Conduct audits to assess effectiveness of controls, accuracy of departmental records, and efficiency of operations.; this includes review of student program enrollment documentation, analysis of data stored in automated processing systems and software applications to safeguard information, ensuring accuracy of data, and promoting operational efficiency
• Monitor department and staff compliance with applicable regulations and standards throughout all aspects of the enrollment process, including interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints and resolving problems
• Adhere to all financial aid processes in the Student Management System (CampusVue)
• Attend conferences and meetings to stay current on industry trends and best practices
• Attend and successfully complete all training for this position, as required at any time by the company
Student Relations Management
• Meet with every prospective student upon completion of their first visit
• Review all enrollments for completion and accuracy
• Meet with current/prospective students to answer questions, resolve concerns, and address issues
• Work to foster a high level of overall student and employee satisfaction
• Work with Admissions personnel on addressing student candidate issues
• Attend school functions and events

Desired Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
• Minimum 3 years experience in business, sales, or marketing
• 2-5 years proprietary education experience preferred
• 1-2 years management experience preferred
• Post-secondary education experience a plus
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Demonstrated ability to fulfill Company Key Behaviors
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and achieve results in a fast-paced environment
