Vice President - Government Consulting - Nexant - Washington
Job description
We are currently seeking an experienced candidate to grow and manage Nexant’s highly successful Government Consulting activities in Washington D.C. The desired candidate is a high-energy, hands-on professional with a proven track record in business development in providing international and domestic energy services to the U.S. Government. The candidate will demonstrate experience winning and managing USAID energy projects. Experience with other agencies such as US DOE, USTDA, IADB, World Bank/IFC, etc. is a significant plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
Managing Nexant’s DC office of highly experienced professionals, and be responsible for its growth and development
As a VP on the global Government Consulting Team, work closely with Nexant management on strategy and delivery to drive revenue and profit growth
Primary performance objective is to achieve revenue growth in the Government sector, with a focus on the energy and power industries
Participate in the management and delivery of consultancy engagements to exceed clients’ expectations and meet internal quality, time and budget constraints
Work effectively with Nexant’s global Government Consulting Team
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications
Master’s degree or higher in subject relevant to the energy and power sectors (e.g. in energy, economics, environment)
Minimum 20 years of experience in the energy sector covering clean energy and power, and with at least 12 years demonstrated experience in sales and implementation with USAID and/or international donor/government clients
Demonstrated track record of preparing and winning work through strong technical and cost proposals for USAID and other similar development funders
Excellent manager with a track record of growing headcount and year-on-year revenue, and maintaining margins
Experience in energy policy and reform, energy economics, technology development, transaction advisory, project development and finance and Emerging Markets
Experience living and working in developing or transitional countries strongly preferred
Excellent presentation and report writing skills
Diplomatic in interacting and working with people, with an acute cultural awareness
