Director - Production - Olympus - Bartlett
Job description
The Director of Production will be primarily responsible for directing the manufacturing and operations activities and staff for the Bartlett facility. The incumbent will work cross functionally with other departments to ensure the manufacturing of the highest quality products and their delivery on time. He/She will work in alignment with OSTA Operations Management. EOE M/F/D/V
Requirements and Responsibilities:
* Anticipate and resolve the problems/issues that could impact the operational success of assigned responsibilities within the operations/manufacturing group and manages conflicting objectives.
* Drive solutions for continuous improvement of the manufacturing performance.
* Participate on strategic planning for Bartlett factory to ensure the operations/manufacturing organization is prepared to execute on volume, product transfer, and product development initiatives.
* Work with other OSTA facilities on standardization of production systems
* Develop, implement, and monitor effectiveness of systems and procedures to ensure compliance to all FDA and other regulatory agency rules and regulations
* Hire and retain a diverse, highly qualified staff and for providing personal development for direct/indirect report employees.
* Maintain development of staff: critiques, instructs, mentors, evaluates and coaches.
* Work with all disciplines, develop, implement, monitor, and champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the production performance.
* Direct the preparation of special analyses and projects as required.
* Supervise 3 Value Stream Managers.
* Perform all other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications:
(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)
* A Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent is required – a relevant advanced degree and working knowledge of medical devise design and manufacturing is highly desired.
* Must have a minimum of at least ten years of progressively responsible work experience in production control activities and production management, with a deep understanding of manufacturing technology.
* Technical expertise in component manufacturing is desirable and the successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership and management skills.
* Significant direct experience leading and implementing lean-manufacturing/six-sigma initiatives as well as usage of ERP Systems is a must.
The following physical demand is required:
-Stand/Sit/Walk 8 hour a day
