To ensure Gogo’s continued strong growth, we are looking for a Director of Product, Gogo Connectivity who can help us deliver impactful new products for our industry leading in-flight connectivity platform. This Director will have overall responsibility for full commercialization and management of all Gogo Connectivity products and services. This will include product development, content, strategic planning, implementation, and go to market. This Director will help drive revenue and profitability growth by delivering a product roadmap for a best in class, consumer focused in-flight connectivity product.
This Director will determine the right strategy to enable the company to scale the product quickly across airline partners and different market opportunities. The Director will need to drive revenue and profitability growth by delivering a product roadmap for a best-in-class, consumer focused product with in-flight connectivity features. S/he will need to envision and evaluate which break-through features and partnerships to pursue while managing tight product roadmaps and prioritizing projects in order to optimize limited resources. Additionally, the Director will build and lead a world class product organization.
This role will work in close collaboration with strategic partners as well as colleagues in engineering, technology, user experience, sales, pricing, analytics, marketing and operations.
Specifically, This Director Will:
• Develop the product strategy, positioning and all elements related to the business case;
• Own the product roadmap to support our Gogo Connectivity strategy;
• Initiate and prioritize projects with engineering and UX teams assisting in determining the best technical implementation methods, track product development, and develop product launch plans;
• Define product requirements; manage product prioritization, scope and backlog in coordination with internal team balancing near term get to market needs with longer term strategic needs;
• Lead, recruit and grow a talented product team;
• Develop a viable and operative business plan that will ensure sustainable success of the Gogo Connectivity service;
• Accurately forecast, budget and manage the resources necessary to establish and maintain key target clients, suppliers and resources;
• Establish annual sales and marketing objectives that will drive the attainment of business objectives;
• Direct all market research efforts aimed at increasing customer satisfaction through optimization of product features and pricing;
• Evaluate and report on the performance of the service;
• Partner with internal teams to manage the IFC integration efforts domestically and internationally with airlines;
• Identify and research new business opportunities related to Gogo Connectivity. Implement strategies to pursue those opportunities which will bring revenue, entrance into new markets, and future opportunities to the business;
• Represent Gogo’s Gogo Connectivity service at industry events and trade shows and press events to drive sales, maintain excellent airline and press relationships, and ensure the company’s image is properly represented;
• Team with Integrated Marketing to ensure the development and effectiveness of marketing campaigns and collateral for Gogo Connectivity.
Qualifications:
• MBA preferred;
• Proven history (10 - 12 years’) of success in product development in roles within well regarded organizations;
• Deep experience in ecommerce and online retailing;
• Experience with telecommunications a strong plus;
• Proven expertise in product planning, development, launch and on-going management;
• Demonstrated ability as a key product and business leader driving sales for overall company needs and advanced expertise and extensive experience leading corporations to success;
• Demonstrated ability to model and evaluate complex business terms for profitability;
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively represent a multi-disciplined operation;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively deal with external and internal customers;
• Structured work ethic to ensure that planning and forecasting tasks are properly completed.
