PayPal Mobile business unit is a close-knit, fun and focused team, which is on track to process more than $3Bn of payments in 2011.
We seek an exceptional Strategy and Analytics Manager to join PayPal Mobile. Our group is responsible for setting direction and ensuring strong business results for the PayPal Mobile business.
Your primary job responsibilities will be:
- Developing actionable strategies to grow the Mobile business and its profitability
- Presenting recommendations with clarity and persuasiveness to executives within PayPal as well as partner organizations (merchants, mobile carriers, etc.)
- Building business cases and forecast models to quantify opportunities, using quantitative data and solid business judgment
- Performing analytical deep-dives to identify problems and opportunities, evaluate business performance, and enable data-driven decision-making

- Ability to see the big picture, combined with a high level of attention to detail
- Comfort with ambiguity and regular context-switching in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivation, high energy and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently AND to ask for help as needed
- Strong communication skills, including ability to translate complex technical and statistical terms into layman’s terms
- Experience building financial models is a strong plus
- Experience analyzing large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets is a strong plus
- Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, SQL and/or R are a strong plus
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative area, e.g., Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, CS, Mathematics
- MBA or quantitative master’s degree is a plus
- Experience working in a top-tier strategy consulting firm is a strong plus
