Job Description
Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to support the Global Accounting Organization. This position will have corporate accounting responsibilities, including accounting for payments processed through our marketplace and our retail sales pipelines. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, direct responsibility of month-end general ledger close activities, monthly account reconciliations and reviews, and preparation of various deliverables to support both internal and external financial reporting needs. In addition, this position will have direct responsibility for improving accounting processes and controls for a Fortune 200 company with a high volume of transactions. This position will also be involved in multiple simultaneous new cross-functional business project launches that have impact to the accounting organization that require solid project management ability, understanding of financial systems, and technical accounting awareness. This person will be expected to take ownership, identify process improvement opportunities for existing processes and controls, and drive positive change across the organization. The ideal candidates will have:BA/BS requiredMBA, CPA, CMA or similar credentials5+ years of accounting experience (public/private mix preferred)Demonstrated ability to successfully lead milestone driven projects1+ years of supervisory experienceStrong desire to exceed expectations and strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skillsSolid organizational, project management skills, and information technology aptitude are also required.
