The Kindle Quality Assurance team is offering a truly exceptional opportunity to be a part of a small team working on bestselling e-book reader the Kindle™. Our systems need to meet remarkably high standards of quality, performance and reliability, operating around the clock on a massive scale. You will be responsible to design, plan, execute and automate tests of front, middle and back-tier software across a variety of architectures and cutting-edge technologies. You are a talented, detail, oriented and enthusiastic Software Development Engineer in Test who is passionate about quality and is enthusiastic about the new cutting edge technology offered to consumers. The person chosen for this position will have the opportunity to contribute their creative ideas and energy to all of the Kindle Technology group's projects, working closely with both business and technical teams across Amazon.com. Duties include design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of test automation programs, the creation of software tools used to perform build verification and regression tests and driving the software development process towards quality-centric methodologies. Job Qualifications Minimum of at least 3 years of software testing experience or more, level will be determined upon interview.Computer Science or similar degree.Expert level Java.C++ helpful, but, not required.Experience with scripting languages such as Perl or Ruby Familiarity with Linux or other Unix operating systems.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving.Expert in software quality and testing methodologies.Knowledge of test automation tools.
