Senior Attorney, OEM -- LCA WSG/Commercial Legal Group

Join our team of talented professionals supporting the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) Division. LCA’s OEM Legal Group has an immediate opening for an experienced commercial Senior Attorney in Redmond.
Primary Responsibilities for this position include:
1. Serving as lead attorney and trusted advisor for several OEM business teams, advising on a broad range of strategic legal and business matters. The issues involved typically include intellectual property, licensing and commercial transactions, competition law and other regulatory matters, product marketing and development, compliance, and communications.
2. Delivering both “at the hangar” and “at the gate” support for licensing, distribution and marketing to OEMs around the world, including structuring, drafting, and negotiating agreements, with emphasis on customer focus.
3. Working effectively with internal business teams including OEM executives, their reports, Operations, Microsoft subsidiaries, and multiple Product Groups to help analyze legal risks, resolve issues and implement overall business strategy.
4. Collaborating with Public Relations, Compliance, and many LCA groups whose work affects the OEM business, including other teams within WSG, Antitrust, Intellectual Property & Licensing, Corporate & Regulatory Affairs, Litigation, and for the several Product Groups.
5. Helping to drive LCA departmental initiatives, including the development or redesign of legal support processes, licensing programs, and templates, and the use of Microsoft technologies to increase efficiencies.
6. Coordinating work with outside counsel in the U.S. and abroad, and overseeing efficient use of budgets for fees.
7. Creating and delivering innovative legal training to clients and colleagues around the world.
The mix and balance among these responsibilities is anticipated to shift over time.
Candidates should have the following Qualifications:
J.D. or equivalent degree and excellent academic credentials
Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a practicing business attorney, with relevant in-house and/or top law firm transactional experience (substantial experience drafting and negotiating contracts related to software distribution and marketing, and counseling on intellectual property and antitrust issues are strong pluses).
Strong business sense and client focus, with the ability to work with executives and embrace suitable risk-taking to protect shareholder value.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across groups with a sense of urgency (including the ability to influence without formal authority).
Demonstrated ability to identify and prioritize key deliverables, work efficiently, and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Action- and results-oriented, with a can-do approach and outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
Desire to work as part of a team, and with the ability to lead, manage and motivate others, and to facilitate change and problem solving.
International experience highly valued.
