Job Description
This role is the primary leadership position in the Omaha Accounting Team. As such, expectations are the individual will consistently adhere to and perform effectively against all expectations outlined as part of our eBay Behaviors and the Role of the eBay Leader including, for emphasis,

--Effectively building and leading a department, consisting of and leveraging world class tools, processes, and personnel, to correctly, efficiently and timely reconcile all assigned General Ledger accounts, including timely and accurate clearing of reconciling items in accordance with Company Policy, to ensure accurate posting of transactions in SAP and customer accounts.
--Overseeing the implementation, maintenance and recurring optimization of tools, processes and readout and escalation strategies to effectively monitor and communicate the “health” of the Global Accounting Operations. Process should be such that critical issues are detected, analyzed, escalated if required, and ultimately resolved timely with minimal impact to the financial statements and actual results reporting process. Process should also provide the Company with a quantitative basis for identifying and assessing the financial impact of sub-optimal processes in the daily Global Accounting Operations and identifying and prioritizing recommendations for improvement.
--Overseeing root cause analysis of recurring reconciliation issues, including bugs and all sub optimal reconciliation processes, and recommending and influencing the implementation of process improvements and product solutions.
--Collaborating with the Financial Product Integration (FPI), Product Development and Business Unit teams on new product, partner, currency launches and general market expansions that impact Global Accounting processes. Influencing the outcome to optimize the trade-off between customer satisfaction and time to market with the Global Accounting needs for effectiveness and efficiency of reconciliation and problem research and resolution process.
--Collaborating with the Global Customer Services teams to resolve inter-dependent issues including timely and effective resolution of large volume adjustments production issues and other customer requirements (including those of eBay and its affiliated properties) requiring the use of the Correction Tool.
--Help to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives related to various processes including reporting, reconciling and analysis.
--Assist with or be responsible for other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.
--Perform at a Meets or Exceeds expectations level for all specific duties outlined above.
--Achieve, maintain and consistently demonstrate a solid understanding of PayPal’s business products, transactions, systems and related accounting process flows. Understand the accounting implications from the transaction level, to the reconciliation level and then up to the general ledger of various money movement accounts.
--Demonstrate a high level of team building, leading and management skills
Skills
Education
BA or higher degree in Accounting. CPA a strong plus
Experience
--15 or more years relevant work experience in accounting operations required, including experience in high volume, complex general ledger reconciliations
--8 or more years of leadership and management experience with proven results for building and leading highly effective teams.
--Experience with a large, global company. Public accounting experience a strong plus. Financial institution or payments industry experience a strong plus.
--Experience with top tier ERP systems required. Previous SAP experience a plus.
