Job Scope
This person will establish a web management organization for VeriSign's Domain Name businesses and will have overall responsibility for the web site, overseeing its design and implementation, daily operations, project management, and leadership and supervision of Web team members. The Director is responsible for creating a quality customer experience across all of VeriSign's Global Web Properties and provide strategic and tactical direction on how VeriSign can best meet its business objectives through web initiatives. The role will require someone who can work collaboratively with various Marketing stakeholders, Management, and technical organizations in the planning and implementation of Marketing Communications activities. Using traffic analysis and voice of the customer data, the Director will strive to continually improve the site's ease-of-use and usefulness to the Customer.
The position is based in Dulles.
Primary Responsibilities
• Lead the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the organization's external and affiliated web sites as well as the corporate Intranet
• Interface with key stakeholders in product marketing and channel marketing functions and teams residing in the business units
• Ensure that web efforts are aligned with overall organizational goals
• Provide leadership and strategic direction based on best practices on ways to increase traffic
• Attract and engage customers by educating them and improving their understanding of VeriSign's products and services with persuasive and easy to understand content
• Oversee the design, making sure that a consistent look and feel, branding is maintained
• Work with staff and stakeholders to:
o Develop and maintain information on the site
o Develop and implement home page editorial calendar
o Maintain style guide
o Assure that the information architecture ensures ease of navigation for users
o Create opportunities for interaction between the Web and other Marketing Communications vehicles
o Manage relationships with third-party consultants, agencies
o Manage Search Engine Optimization (SEO) efforts to increase and maximize visibility
o Develop key performance indicators to test, measure and refine strategies and tactics
• Work with technical personnel to assess needs, evaluate new technology to determine if beneficial for sites.
Skills
Qualifications:
• 10-15 years of successful management experience with the ability to motivate a team to accomplish the goals of the department and organization
• Experience in project management and team leadership producing websites with an understanding of online communication and industry best practices
• Must be able to adjust plans and schedules and adapt to change
• Experience working with in a cross-functionally and with all levels of Management
• Knowledge of Social Media/Communities strategy is desired
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Minimum BA/BS degree. MBA a plus
