Commercial Controller Director Microsoft Tokyo

The Commercial Finance Director is managing a team of strong finance professionals who sit across a number of leadership teams, and the role is influential in driving shareholder value by reporting on key financial performance metrics and providing insightful financial & business analysis, in order to maximize revenue and profitability and ultimately drive for Digital Transformation with customers. The Commercial Finance Director is the Finance partner to the STU Lead, providing actionable insights to identify new business opportunities and to prioritize the ones with the highest ROI. The successful candidate also delivers actionable insights to drive post-sales consumption in collaboration with Segments Controllers.

Finance & Business Excellence

Deliver forecast accuracy across our 3 bold ambitions and across billed (annuity mix), consumed revenue in the context of the New Revenue Standard
Lead the annual budgeting process for the Commercial Business by defining budget guidelines, analyzing revenue and conducting budget reviews.
Partnership

Leverage analytics and insights to provide actionable insights to the New Business GM on our 3 bold ambitions to drive topline revenue and consumption growth, and maximize ROI
Identification & prioritization of opportunities incl. propensity model
Navigate conversations on how to drive consumption; provide insights in industry & customer trends and workloads
Proactively engage in structuring large deals. Deliver and optimize large deal economics with an end to end view (e.g. ECIF, discounts, channel incentives, Services).
Lead Digital Win Room support for major deals
Deliver insights in STU productivity and effectiveness
Be actively engaged to tell our story and drive digital transformation. Drive targeted partner and customer reviews, own account sponsorship and impactful Business Decision Maker engagement.
Partner with CDS Finance to ensure relevant insights on Commercial Surface provided to the business
Compliance

Take ownership of the Controls & Compliance agenda for the Commercial Segments, ensuring right Tone from the Top as well as sustainable practices.

Qualifications
15+ years of experience in finance leadership positions
Experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles is recommended
Advanced MS Excel skills
Fluent in English
BA/BS or MBA degree in Finance, Economics, CPA/CA preferred
