Director Digital Analytics The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company Akron

This position will be a member of the Global IT Senior Leadership team, reporting to the Chief Information Officer. The Director of Digital & Analytics is repsonsible for establishing strategic direction for both standard and advanced analytics, building and growing the digital capabilities of the team in regards to UI/UX, web-services, and platform-as-a-service solutions, coordinating the collaboration activities for the organization from legacy platforms to advanced collabration platforms to include robotics and machine learning where appropriate. This role will also have responsibility for coordinating these activites globally and in conjunction with peers in IT and key business leaders to achieving our common goals as Goodyear.
Key Responsibilities:

Digital - Support Corporate / Global sites and partner with regional business teams on projects, best practices, and strategic roadmaps. Build and develop capabilites within the team and with select strategic vendors in the areas of UI/UX design, API / web-services architecture, leveraging cloud-based platforms (IaaS, PaaS) as part of a 'cloud-first' strategy. Collaborate closely with Cloud Archtiect and GIS teams to align on best practices and the smooth delivery of projects with both SDLC and security as fundamental principles. Establish a Cloud / DevOps team in conjunction with GIS; leading to a separate organization at some time in the future.
Analytics - Continue to support the global EDW environment while developing a long-term roadmap which provides greater flexibility to the organization and more advanced reporting and analytical capability. Support and enable the execution of the Big Data strategy for the organization through a more flexible and creative means than requiring IT to be the funnel for all work. Ensure common meta-data and overall governance of the environment protects our IP and PII by leveraging strategic partners to ensure best practices are established and maintained. Continue to develop associates into a more blended role as Data Engineers capable of working from source to analytics, with a focus on enabling business associates instead of developing.
Collaboration - Ensure the availability of the broad range of o365 technologies (and others) necessary to providing associates the ability to do their day-to-day work. Create and sustain an ongoing engagement process to ensure best practices for existing applications/tools and updates on new capabilities are shared consistently throughout the organization. Work closely with legal and cyber teams to ensure access to data is managed appropriately, and that new features don't jepordize the organization. Shift development of SharePoint and other Collaboration sites to a blended model which delivers more capaiblity and flexibilty to the organization.
Automation - incubate and build capability within the teams to streamline work through use of scripting, automation tools, and ultimately advanced machine learning and AI platforms. Enable business automation efforts by establishing a robotics strategy, a COE to support this requirement, and continusiouly monitor trends in this space as it will rapidly evolve / consolidate. Ensure associates are being trained in the newer concepts and technologies, while also delivering an "automation for associates" capability which enables more people to leverage robotics and assistants in their day-to-day work.
Sustaining services - there is a robust and complex underlying architecture which requires ongoing support and patching. Develop a strategy which shifts to a cloud-based platform (where appropriate) and establish a roadmap which will consolidate on a few key Operating Systems, common images, and a patching and testing process to ensure environment is hardened against cyber threats.

Education:

The role requires Bachelor’s Degree in MIS / Computer Science/Engineering/ Technology/ Business Administration or related discipline. Masters Degree is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Proven experience of creating IT services/products that generate strategic impact for the function/business.
Experience in leading intiatives that support monetizing the data.
Deep understanding of launching IOT across the organization. Good understanding of Emerging technologies (Sensors/Block-Chain etc)
Visible passionate leaders. Develops team members through coaching.
Broad working knowledge of multiple business functions & processes.
Understands & works with the organizations mission, operations, structure & goals.
Ability to manage critical feedback, changing priorities & a dynamic landscape with poise & professionalism.
