Director of Systems Engineering will be responsible for managing a team of Systems Engineers and driving IP and Optical solutions into the AT&T account. This is a management position on the AT&T customer team responsible for Nokia’s IP Optical Networking (ION) portfolio. The candidate will be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of systems engineers, driving technical sales strategies, maintaining and expanding customer technical relationships, and directing internal organizations in support of growing Nokia’s IONs sales with AT&T.
Key Responsibilities / Functions:
This opportunity is for Systems Engineering Leader with a comprehensive understanding of IP and, Optical networking, automation and Hybrid Cloud environments. The candidate will be expected to lead a team of systems engineers that identify, develop, and deliver solutions to meet AT&T’s and Nokia’ business objectives. As such, the ideal candidate should work well with people and be very familiar with AT&T’s existing network and architectural direction. The candidate is expected to work closely with Nokia product business units to ensure requirements are understood and that milestones and revenue targets are met. This requires the candidate to have excellent people skills and knowledge of IP and Optical Networking, automation and cloud practices for the purpose of being a mentor and trusted advisor to the systems engineering team, internal organizations and AT&T.

Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)
Bachelors in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering t least 7 years of Technical Sales or Sales Engineering experience Tier 1 Service Provider
Deep understanding of end-to-end networking architectures and protocols like OSPF, MP-BGP, Ethernet and functional elements within a very large mobile and cloud ecosystem and design tradeoffs
Very strong listening, communication and presentation skills are essential.
Ability to work in a fast paced and highly dynamic environment to build trust both with the customer and Nokia business units.
